My suspicion/hunch is the host of all those competitions mentioned above and the chosen winner are one in the same. I have no proof, only my opinion after reading poems from each.
I too, feel totally foolish for not seeing the, what's now, all too obvious scammer/deceiver in my midst.
Also, I don't believe using AI generated comments/poems is remotely fair. Just like Betty said, commenting is a metric that gets a trophy awarded for it's efforts, therefore it's tantamount to cheating when employing AI as a quicker means in trying to justify that end.
Taking time to invest and connect with folks and their poetry has been one of my greatest joys while here on DUP. It's an enormous shame that expectation of trust and mutual respect wasn't reciprocated but essentially abused by one individual with an apparently crazy need to accrue site trophies at any cost. So much so, that abusing the use of AI generated comments and poems to vastly improve those chances, is a choice that looks like it was seemingly made. Now, it also appears like using multiple accounts to create comps, is another tool that may have been used, as well.
This is where opening yourself up by welcoming folks with that notion of both sides being on the same page of decent honesty and goodness becomes utterly embarrassing when it's discovered how wrong you ending up being...
Just my two cents.

To me this is the equivalent of copy/pasting sections from Wikipedia into an essay. It’s cheating. All that you’ve done is told a robot to source the salient facts pertaining to a piece of work and then regurgitate them. I don’t need you to recite factoids, I need you to give me the thoughts of your actual human brain.
I have to concur. Hopefully bot content can be definitively identified and handled decisively. The points that have been made about it being unfair to those who make a genuine and authentic effort are salient.

Motherfuck, right!?
The important thing is to take action or it's over
Seriously.
I think we should start a discussion in the help forum and see if the Webmistress would consider new policy and tagging.
If people like it, fine. Some people like to sit in their own shit because it's warm. Be happy. But don't fucking review-rape us.

We don't need to play sky is falling.
We need to establish protocol.
What are your thoughts:
Ask for a new label for poems "AI or CHAT GPT" similar to Erotic, Self or Love, and ask for a GENERATED tag or something?
Labels. If we allow it and categorize it we can exclude it.

Considering the content is not original to the person posting it, if we establish a substratum for chat bot generated content, that content should be discluded from consideration for trophies and competitions.
I suppose the questions to answer here might be, How do we decide something is AI generated if the person posting it is doing so without declaration of it being bot generated? Can the zerogpt website be considered a reliable barometer?
Also, if it is decided posted content is chat bot generated, should the person posting it face the same consequences as those who plagiarize?

I believe that would be fair.
We are going to have to honor system and self-police at first.
But we need to act fast. The longer we wait the more pervasive it is without any form of boundary.
This has already infiltrated, it's like an invasive species, if we don't try to contain it it's going to eat everything here.
I agree with everything you said, DC.
Any other thoughts?
Next steps would be asking the Webmistress. What other items do we need to include?

I'm very interested in what our fellow members may offer us as to how to move forward from here. The only other items I can personally suggest are a revisal of the site rules to reflect this new aspect of posting to the site, clear definitions and consequences of these rules and clear definition and enforcement of as to what forms those consequences will take.
I think, right now, we need to come together to stress that this is a serious issue that requires serious resolution.

Can we ask admin to put out a side-wide announcement/poll?
We need more input, for sure.
I'm ready to move forward and ask for some immediate labeling stop-gaps, but we need to inform the members who aren't as active in the larger community what their thoughts are.
