Poetry Contest

Take your time. Tell me about your travails about it...
Poems or short stories.  Whatever.  No, I mean, have fun telling me about how you deal with it.

Knot Now

Procrastination
often, to the brink
slipping, I think &
drowning in an
abyss of PANIC!
Any attempt to
mindfully dismiss
all angst or bliss,
to not think
to not rethink
to not over think
knowing full well
even the smallest
ort or iota will retie
the knot of anxiousness.
However,
at some moment
before the future
putting off tasks
is often easier
than yesterday’s
agenda but still I
persist with this joyless
entanglement.
I wish I knew why. . .

I’ll figure it out
tomorrow.

I Like To Think Things Through

I cut the bathroom up
with a nine inch
Angle Grinder
cut the parts of it
into small pieces
-A huge pile of rubble

I had a reason
it was my own reason
the pipe in the wall
was leaking
I cut a hole in the wall
repaired the old pipe
added the parts of the wall
to the huge pile of rubble

The wife asked why?
Why did you cut the bathroom up
into small pieces?
Why is there a huge pile of rubble?

I cut the bathroom up
for my own reasons
and I intend to hire
a truck and dump the rubble
I replied

She asked
when?
I replied soon!

She said she liked the idea of
a new bathroom but
then she reminded me

I cut up the bathroom
with a nine inch Angle Grinder
three years ago
and today is Sunday

Time waits for no man

Seconds pass
Minutes fade
Hours turn to days
Time waits for no man

Excuses plenty
Tasks delayed
Deadlines avoided
Time waits for no man

Tomorrow's looming
Offering opportunities
Tomorrow never arrives
Time waits for no man

Transformed into an ostrich
Head planted in sand
Ignoring commitments
Time waits for no man

Stress builds
A race against time
The clocks ticking
Time waits for no man

Self inflicted anxiety
Lingering regret
Time waited for no man

Like a Fool

I lagged and dragged on a lot of decisions
And sometimes I missed the boat
I lingered for a little too long on some things in life
Then I missed the bus
And it was the longest walk

I procrastinated on the matters that would’ve been good for me
Even as the years seemed to fly by
Then it was like sprinting just to catch up
Only to be out breath and still feel out of time

But Carole assures we should always be glad
For what we had, even if it’s gone
Now as a sit here and listen to those old songs
I feel like a fool for having missed on some opportunities
But happy I took a chance on other ones

Collecting Dust

I can’t be with you today
maybe tomorrow
when I’m done collecting dust

A nice balance and old songs sometimes also bring back mixed feelings. Regards, Robert.

Do not be Betrayed

I need a little more time to ponder, this everlasting life
I have have too much going on right now, stress, anxiety and strife
I want to get more opinions, from those who are saved or not
I have to list my reasons, incase someone puts me on the spot

I will get all my ideas together, to clear up uncertainty
I will take my time and figure out this plan of 'Eternity'
I have taken this long, so one more day, should not be a worry
I want to make sure and clear it all up, so this decision will not be blurry

I can wait until tomorrow, for surely I'm ok 'til then
I might even go a little longer, now I'm not sure when
I have done a lot of thinking, this can be for another time
I will not rush into this, after all I'm still in my prime

(converse)

If you notice there are 12 ( I's) and no decision was there made
'the devil was in the details', you should know, you've been betrayed
now in the end we are not promised, another minute much less a day
It's best to ask for answers( and forgiveness) , from the One who hears you pray

Do not let yourselves be deceived, that all the answers you'll glean
"faith is confidence in what we hope for, and assurance of things unseen".(Hebrews 11:1)
So do not think there is a lot of time, for your decision will be slowed
for that will "lead to NEVER", and the enemy, would have you take that road
