the time it takes~

i had a conversation
about my unconditional love
for you
just your name out loud
tightened my throat
and left my hands shaking
with that surreal feel of plush softness
only your ears provided

finding a half chewed tennis ball
under my couch...

.
...then harsh ugly crying
until hiccups turned to understanding.

i considered a shelter visit
practicing what i preach
and all that inherent righteousness
thinking my heart is finally
in that open place
yet my mind and soul
had me thumbing through old pictures—
(maybe next month)
i whisper
for the umpteenth month
in a row...

I miss your innate
understanding
Oh that spiritual-like wisdom
of your insightful (and pushy) perspective
the need to hold accountable
never letting me
get away with that bullshit
of comfortably cloaked in my chosen darkness
or not speaking my truth
yours,
was pure motivation
that unknown but needed push
altruistic and only
because you could see
what I never do
or can
an exquisite substance
of worth
and a battered value
of unique thought
that my voice,
sings of
some needed effervescence
and that shutting down
hiding away,

white against the blue
shimmering hair, streaked with gold
in awe of his stature
a dancer with his colourful garb
made his footsteps seen on sand
a park was bestowed his name
a park that saw love bloomed
and hearts broken
he went to glory...the tall white man
who came to us without a purpose
as all man will
be it kings, lords or serfs

The truth in being earnest
(The definition of treachery)
There's something
to be said for pure
good 'ol fashioned
honesty
when you're up front
honest in thought and deed
crystal clear
in all that's recognized
as your truth
What is treachery?
To me,
in my
oh so humbled opinion
it is taking an extremely thoughtful
and hard explained truth
and pissing
all over it
because when someone says
"I like you"
(which is rather nice)
sincere and uncommonly adorable
and something that should
never be taken for granted
especially when bravery
extends to
..." but I would like to take
it slow and steady"
and that is
Agreed to in earnest.
(supposedly)
... until it isn't...
Then
that's
treachery—
so we're clear.
