Hey, spdred! We understand completely.  These are trying days.  We do hope you and yours are staying safe and healthy. There's always next year!

2 quick small nitpicking questions:

is there a quick way to do the 50 original word count (an option on word lets say)  or do we have to use our brains and fingers?

I presume that if we quote someone within a poem that that will not count into the 50 original words, is that right?

apologies if this has been answered before and I missed it. Thanks.

Hi, nomoth, there are many word counter tools on the net that you can use, here is one:

https://wordcounttools.com/

That is correct in regards to the quote. Only your written poetry applies to the count. Thus, make sure you remove the quote when using the word counter tool.

Hope that helps.

That occurred to me last night and I was planning on adding that to the existing rules!

Less than THREE days to launch!

It's time to meet your Official NaPo co-founder/host/pilot, Ahavati  Deanna Troi Commander Deannavati !

Hey, hows about we just call her dedicated to the advancement of Poetry?!

Hold on to your tricorders, Poetfleet cadets. Throughout the challenge, while posting some incredibly EPIC poetry, she will be stunning you with amazing graphics! Prepare to be amazed and phased!

Will we recover the stolen muses?  You'll soon find out!
