Closure

My heart was played upon
Third string of her banjo
The memories of her I’m drawn
Reliving purgatories of woe
The melodious strings of her thumb
Interject sublime repentance
Nostalgia trumpets her rumbled drum
My soul bewails for her presence
My eyes are betrayed and captivated
Yet frozen in time with fear
Our untimely separation I hated
Saturated with unforgivable grief to bear
Her strum resurrected a nerve
Reawakening the life I once buried
She was my everything I didn’t deserve
And to think we were once married
Her resolve, overwhelmingly strong
In my head it would play and linger
Like a puppet I danced to her song
As she played my life on her finger
Tears marathon my face
I fight my composure
Must escape this place
And beg her for closure

Infinity

If ever I was an immortal
I’d seek your faces beauty
I’d comb eternity’s secret portal
For traces of you elude me

I’d spill to the wind
Of the east and the west
Amidst the north and south rescind
The maneuvers of my quest

I’d frolic the air
Of your loved ones
Caressing silhouetted hair
Spun in a silky laced aeon

I’d inherit the musk
Of your cinders
Intoxicating but robust
Proliferating on shards of splinters

I’d quench the fountains
Of your youth
As low as the abyss
And as high as the mountains
I’ll lie at the well
Lapping truth

I’d jovially embrace
The thunder of your wrath
Transposing universe and space
Displacing my path

If ever I was an immortal
These things I’ll do until infinity
And in the aftermath
If we’re not cordial
I’ll reminisce in your bask
Within me

Hummingbird in Flight

Today it's your choice, to be wise,
or wounded.
There are terrible things happening
to people all around the world,
people die, or get injured  they feel shame or pain,
But there are  also beautiful things happening  at the same time.

A hummingbird in flight,  a lotus blossom, a waterfall,  your
experience in this world is self
created.
Un shakle yourself from the limited identity in which you place yourself.
Be willing to respond with freedom,
and with openness.

Don't become an island unto
 yourself,  experience fully, the
person inside of you,  don't react,
to things that come against you
from  the outside

 Resentment anger,  pain,  regret
are poisons we ingest we feed
 ourselves ,  while expecting
someone else, to die from it

Don't just believe,  belief is
 assuming something you don't
know,  Seek...seeking means you
realize there is something you
 dont know

Seek inside  for inner peace
make it happen it won't come
 by assuming belief.

Dancing in the Trees

Laying in the grass
Looking at the sky
You turn to me and say:
"Go run and hide!"
I jump quickly to my feet
I begin to run
"One, two, three...
Ready or not, here I come"!
Your voice fades with the setting sun
Sprinting through the fields
My feet barely touching the ground
I dive into a patch of grass
Patiently waiting to be found
Your voice is getting nearer
"Emily..."
I try not to make a sound
I burst into laughter
Knowing I've been found
"I've got you!"
And for a moment,
You hold me so tight
"Can't we play once more?
Before the sky turns to night?"
"One more time," you say
"If I only had more time,
forever we could play"
"Go ahead and hide, mommy
I'll count nice and slow"
Your smile fades
You kiss my head before you go
I count as high as I can
When I finally open my eyes
For miles the only light
Comes from fireflies
"Ready or not, here I come!"
Around and around
I run
It's so dark
It's getting hard to see
At last I find you
I see your feet dangling from a tree
"I found you, mommy!
Now you can come down"
I keep calling your name
You don't make a sound
I try to grab your feet
Only to find
You are out of my reach
Soon I give up, I sit on the ground
"It's okay, mom
I'll wait for you to come down"
There I sit growing tired
I trace the stars in the sky
"Won't you come down now?
Won't you just try?"
I rest my weary head against the tree
With the slight of a sudden breeze,
You begin to sway
Your voice whispers to me
"Go home, go home"
The breeze fades away
And then your voice is gone
I begin the long walk home
Through the wildflowers
I walk alone
I run my fingers along the stonewall
I walk until I see our house
Hear my name being called
Daddy grabs me
He holds me tight
"Where have you been?
I've been worried sick all night!"
"We were playing hide and seek
I could show you, daddy
Follow me, follow me
Mommy isn't comin'
She's dancing in the trees."

Straight Talk (Colors and Prosperity )

Why are world actions driven by the color of one’s skin tone, and not by the content of character. One would have assumed once Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. looked over that mountaintop and after delivering his memorial speech, I Have A Dream, at this time, racial equality and unification would have progressed for all, in addition, color barriers would be mended by the year 2020.

As a resident of Upper East Side New York, I still hear the shouts from the mountaintop, yet, unfortunately it’s not echoes of integrated peace, we have overcome; it is the cries of give us justice, or no peace.

Now that we have a new president who resides in the White House, political agenda to divide is now American obstruction. We all need to come together to tackle this hindrance, not only for this country but for interacting with other countries abroad.

Every American should be given the chance to adopt the creed of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, as well as reap the rewards from that analogy.

I feel dismay for anyone, who has ever encountered the presence of racism. And please be advised discrimination rears its ugly head as well.

To be judged unfair on the merit of one’s skin color or shunned due to your ethnicity, is demoralizing and adheres to the pitfalls of injustice this so-called great nation still believes in.

For all the interracial dating and procreating with other races. One would think, racial lines are somewhat blurred.

In this century, society is now coming together and blending voices as one, demanding the due process of civil rest. We are progressing to the promised land of getting along or tearing each other down.

No one standing as a citizen wants a war of races on American soil; if such does ever occur, it only escalates to things beyond our control. Therefore, why we’re all burying our heads in the sand, America is being bankrupt of its monetary value, and deprived of its own earth's precious minerals.

Much needed revenue is leaving this country at an alarming pace, our GNP is falling be the degrees of Checks and Balances, in the presence of democracy,  other wealthy countries are demanding their productivity showcased on American soil by engaging or limiting their economical trade in the spirit of embargo wars.

I do admire the wealthy, the philosophy of their economic growth to maintain their affluent status is never based upon the content of skin color. Moreso, their lucrative necessities is solely based upon what sectors, or avenues in life which can provide them monetary gain as they reach a status of prosperity.

In the realm of everyone else who has not been born with a silver spoon in their mouth, or no means to ever eat from one, why does it seem to come down to our survival, to negate or deny the simplicities, based upon this state of existence we call life; the less privileged cannot even struggle together to pull financial resources to prosper in mainstream society, whereas, when it's all said and done. It will never boil down to the color of skin, but the Have and Have nots.

Let’s keep the sixties of racial injustice in mind as a memorial that shall never divide and conquer, our voices unified, our truths spoken, a catalyst to enforce peace for this nation to thrive, in addition, a pivotal moment in time of the way we live and how one shall interact when facing each another in passing

Every One Of Us Individuals

If impairment
Is thinking different
Then I am impaired
The world is too grey
My mind gives it colour

The puzzle of life
Is mathematical in nature
Geometric shapes
Hold a bigger fascination
Than words from someone’s mouth

I am a prowler
Seeking truth
This highway is my own
What comes into view
Is for me to know

Our personal space
Is interrupted by questions
Constant interrogation
If I was normal
Would be left alone

On a spectrum
Designed for explanation
Fatally flawed
As nature designed
Every one of us as individuals

A (Pause) centering

I am unknown
lain
forgotten

clock in submission

I am unknown
shutdown
again

indifference

She stepped out of the hotel, stolen by a moments glance from her window.
Wrap of ivy fills the brick walls, small cracks wind at the edge and Her mind floods to a time when life was simpler.
How the Ivy wrapped her childhood home scent of hibiscus the beloved missing element here.

The fountain being what drew her out, sat proudly and inviting with its bench seats and gentle spray.
The love for them had always been there , she quickly grabbed a seat and sighed with instant comfort.

The light burns low, flames from candles sewn softly around the space.
sounds of spray gently coax the very own submersion and massage to mind.
smell of old brick floor-ways mix, slipping its path on and out of sight.
stairs of descent bringing the center, brought to halt respite and all.

My Queen of Pain

There lives a thing in me
its proportions both great and small
as it shifts intent
yo-yoing menace towards safe grey convolutions
swaying a nauseating tilt towards verge

I catch myself
with sweaty grip on my being
fighting like panting dogs
a bent-knee posture
…..my good will bowing to the un-willing

and I know this thing would be my Queen of Pain

her sovereign urge monstrous
would seek to rule whole my rationale
leaving ignorance in tyrannies wake

there is bliss there and some warmth
as it radiates from the glow of Lucifer's Halo

….but I hang on like death
to my railing of cold certainty
hoping for the world
I do not fall

Looking Back

I guess there's a pillar of salt
standing near Mt. Sodom
that wishes it never
took that glance over
the shoulder.

Regret?

Fuck it.

Sometimes you've got to see
the world burn, to really grasp
what's happened.

On 2020

A few months ago
on his calendar year 2020 preview
jotted down
a crocodile crying sighting
many a choreography
for dancers with two left feet
a self he could call his own
and a slight increase
of excuses for his behavior...

Fast forward to now
- hurry before the now is gone -
he rides discontent's Winter
plastering against the wall
like a spray can with a spelling impediment...

In the now
right after the now before
assumes a horizontal pose
and pauses projecting second thoughts
on calendar year 2020...
