You have 2 weeks to nominate  Your favorite poems from a NEW DUP poet - someone who has been a member for no more than six months.

To locate New Members simply click on 'Poems' > *Latest Poems > Sort Poems > New Members!  Thanks to Umm for the image and helping us old people out!

Please note the following when making nominations:

2. Until this comp is established, there is no limit to nominations; however, you can't nominate more than one poem per individual new member.  *****

3. No DUPLICATES. If someone nominates the same poem the entry will be deleted. If you like it that much wait and vote for it!

4. Any genre except erotica or pornography. This is a Facebook feature and we must adhere to their guidelines.

5. Any member who is banned or disables their account PRIOR to the win will be automatically disqualified.

6. One win per member per calendar year ( Jan - Dec ).

7. All nominators must notify their nominees of nominations.

Any nominated member who wishes to opt out of the competition may do so by messaging me. I will contact the person who nominated you and request an alternate nomination.

Salt

I remember you as the
hot wind of a beach town
downtown
our favorite dive bar
put lights up for
Halloween
you made me dance for tickets
we never won

and like the excitement of a new invention
your brain was always reeling;
fish hooks and guts all over
and you
on the pier catching all of them;
free beer in hand

I remember you being good
at everything
and I complained;
discreetly
adoring cigars on your breath;
watching your lips charm me,
always anticipating your mouth

I miss sharing our salted air
and you miscalculating
the cold of the night;
I loved you so much I
drank your wine anyway
on a blacked-out shore,
freezing
and laughing at
your idea of romance

Fall in Love with a Poet

for he will pick the
flower in bloom,
and before muttering
any futile chant;
“she loves me...
she loves me not...”
he recounts every silk petal
as it pertains to each of your
newly polished components
one
by
one
by
one

Fall in love with a poet:
before
he mentions
the allure of our
shimmering sky;
he will pull down a star
to show you its dull glow,
perhaps in need of
a dusting,
compared
to the sublime
light you radiate

in your darkest
corners, too,
he will find a glow
to build from

Fall in love with a poet:
for he proceeds to put out
the streetlights before us
to show
you’ll shimmer
brightest amongst
dark roads,
lest he be lost;
you’ll know this too,
due to his eye’s reflection

Fall in love with a poet:
for he will parade you
in the finest museum;
only to illustrate
with his tongue;
world
renowned
painters
have never come close to
exhibiting a square inch
of your specific
beauty

Fall in love with a poet:
for he will break open
your chest
and expose
the whole of you:
your tangled
blue veins;
a beating heart
wounded;
grotesque
bits you’ve
hidden,
torn or tied
in knots for
centuries;
(you’ve gotten used
to their aches and pulls)

and with his
tongue’s saliva like glue,
his heartstrings like wire,
he will attempt
to mend
each of your
raw and gurgling
intricacies
one
by
one
by
one

Never fall in love with a poet:
your woven body
rooted
must you pull away;
for the moment
you’ve been
interlaced by his
red string of fate,
he has manifested a subject
with the prospect of being
unraveled;

like a puddle of
ribbon
in his endless sea
of all the words that
make
up
you

Health diary

Good morning. It's raining today.

It's a lot of heavy but I'm fine today.

The reason is miso soup with plenty of vegetables and rice I've been eating for a long time.

The staple food improves your skin.

Recently, rice is eaten with attention to medicinal meal(薬膳),

I am getting more efficient.

Just as the unconsciousness in the human mind draws harmony (is it an unconscious universe?)

Every time your meal what you want your body will be clean and nourish.

the story jumps with wrote the heart, but the emotions are water as “Five conduct(五行)”

Become a veil and protect your heart.

Not only that, this feeling is a delicate “wavelength” that is important to us.

Another heart of the invisible heart.

We learn and nurture this between human relations.

The fun comes from the laughter that comes afterwards.

As I said,

Emotion is the energy of water, for Japanese people surrounded by the sea,

In fact, it occupies the most important range.

my favorite America, surrounded by buildings and going through the wilderness, may be overwhelmed if there are too many emotions.

Whether it is reason or emotion, we have abundant love and fruitfulness.

When love comes true, the heart knows highly about "human sorrow" and walks like a foot.

Sometimes the heart of a person can spoil people, but it is also the daily life of food, clothing and shelter that nourish the spirit.

What to wear, there is an aura body in addition to clothes.

I always think that is it emotion, heart.

The Buddha is wearing a garment as if he was wearing the shaking water as it was.

The angel is as if wearing the wind.

I want you to look carefully at your emotions and protect yourself and your heart.

The heart is the most noble of human belongings.

Next, I will write about meals about the body.

The good  for medicinal meal(薬膳) is

It is I can organize and clear my diet without spending special money.

The foodstuff are tailored to the seasonal characteristics of the body and can be harmonized.

Especially in winter, it seems that the kidneys weaken.

Therefore, eat food that warms the organs and the body.

Cabbage, broccoli and chestnuts.

Another thing to note is

Bend and stretch your waist and warm your kidneys.

The kidneys are deeply connected to breathing, so abdominal breathing.

And as a moisturizing ingredient,

Mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, taro, apples and persimmons.

The harmony between the ingredients you want to eat and the body is strange.

But, considering why frustrating or malnourished,

When scientific figures there, even so, if add  a heart

The truth is misaligned.

So there are people who live longer even if they smoke,

Both visible and invisible work.

Whatever you want to put in your body can be energy that keeps your mind.

The body and mind are connected,

What is healthy,

There are various cultures in the world, so I can't say anything. Not one.

I think that I want to achieve longevity by incorporating ingredients that match the land.

I want you to aim this.

The harmony between Japanese seasonal vegetables and the human body is beautiful and strange.

I think it is a mysterious earth.

"Apply "airflow" to the body !"

Below the Low

It's going to be a different day
Maybe even a good one
Listening to the radio
"This is the day, your life will surely change"
I feel so torn since I was born
Life is easy when you set your death point by your own theory
I'm wondering how many layers are there in depression
As I look to the window
Hearing Christine sing to Eric
Daydreaming of going away in a three mast ship
In a blink of an eye I could cross the threshold
My intriguing scene shakes me
Below the low
here it comes
Sinking oh no not again
God help me in my need to feel complete
Playing with diamond cards
But the joker always knows whats on your mind
Voilins are playing in my darkest hour
And the sweetest melody I hear is from the musical figurine
that plays on...

Gold.

I see fear in strong faces
Between healed bones
And night bruises
Strength carved out in hollow chests
We are all empty
Trying to cause our selves pain
In the name of art
Figuring out where we fit
Into the bigger picture
The picture we had no part in creating
I try, with the assumption that you'll do the same
But disappointment can be seductive
Hang over you like a tree that
Has started to decay
They mimic hollowed out bones in my face
You've gotten older
You do not smell as sweet
Your hair different shades of grey
And you wear worried like
Steel armour
But you haven't changed
Still dancing in circles
That put carousels to shame
Still illuminating the dark with
Reds and blues
Yellows and greens
A kaleidoscope or wonderment
A beacon of easy days
That have yet to come
I need you
To shine out the darkness that
Slowly found its way in
Things can be heavy
And I can not carry It all
Alone

DEADMAN - WELLINGTON AVE

we

kissed greedily outside the bar on Wellington Ave
spit and sweat and snowflakes and the horn of a cab
our secretive dance. the distant flirt was growing perverse
settled for each other cause we've settled for worse
homeward bound. ye olde corolla put the rev in reverse
drop you off before the storm. exchanging sets to rehearse
you're a close second. i'm a competitive first
at cultivating loyalty then breaking its curse
love hurts and so does opiate withdrawal at noon
clearing out my throat so i can talk to a room
of absentees and silent, absent-minded recluses
preoccupying their uselessness. the wandering youth
so I'm talking to you. bar stools & Estee Lauder perfume
you're evidence in leggings, i've got nothing to prove
the happiness we sought is but a common pursuit
of a couple kids who rarely put their conscience to use
traveled half the world to rediscover some truth
all it gave me was a tolerance boost. vodka and juice
bourbon and water. worms to the slaughter, squirming in vain
babysit your daughter while you search for a vein
a study in redundancy: we've learned to be trained
to lust with unconditional regard for the pain
for those affected. consequence, discord, disarray
disappeared in the second that i saw you today
dishonor, betrayal, monorails, we're hailing a cab
instead of waiting for the train to stop at Wellington Ave

picking-satchel of blackberry stained patterns

pheasants and partridge rise
through coppice and hedgerow gapes,
boroughs of  brush, terrified flowers
and abandoned nests,
‘fore the shotgun escapes.

from wiry snares and tweeded capes
their eastern sunned curtain’d drapes
in oleander bursts  of shot

in the mornings wake
 I  awake.

Esteemed  fox-bait in style they recommend
Its gone: they are gone.

Their pat has gone.

Jinn of buckthorn makes
a cider so strong, its drunken stings: in the fields the furrows made
made  so deep  no man can escape
deeply, and deeply I wish, I wish; I list the crops,
the rotation-systems and where the water lakes
in the rain -  in flooded stubborn pools.

I drain, abstain, I want to be coming to
a last leaf;  a blackberry feather and  crane of head
reaching  through for last  of season’s fruit,
grappling hawthorn as it pricks the palm
where the rising suns reflects
off bloodied black bark
and  these hands’ blackberry stains.
