Why War?
I wish it was a simple thing
To explain why people go to war.
But anything that can reduce
Society and lives to rubble
Is from an unbridled darkness
Of our prehistoric DNA.
Like the wolf in domestic dogs,
We too have the capability
To turn and bite the hand that feeds.
Beginning from the first smell of blood,
Marking territory with scent,
Before a God existed, my child.

War is the spawn of Hate
Love is the Angel of Peace
Only Love can defeat Hate
So, here is all we need do
To rid War and let Peace rule
Love and forgive others
As you would have them
Forgive and Love you

Wooden soldiers
In that box red soldiers lie in a jumble
Hush now dry your tears my little one
Sometimes angry nations fight
See the candle hold it tight
They march on sticks in shadows fall and stumble
People that we knew and loved, walked a path
We called it fate
And played a game, cannon fodder just live bait
And some stand up and some lay down
Some went away never to return
Rode your bike in the craters risen deep
Say no words of angry prayers, was a lost yesterday
No tantrum shame and memories to disgrace
The sweets you hold share them with
A smiling face
And cherish each piece that action took away
Hush now dry your tears my little one
Sometimes angry nations fight
See the candle hold it tight

Lost Amongst The Trees
Remember how I've scolded you
when you've misbehaved.
and the words that I have used
for why that's childish ways.
Like a sprout along with many
growing in the woods
time expects you to mature
and stand as though you should
The love for others I've tried to teach
and pray that you have learned
are lost on some around the world
that's why they're not concerned
It is this lack of caring
that causes us to war
and until we learn this
mankind can never soar

So much for the cat
thought it loved me
the way it curled up on my neck
fore it went to sleep
nuzzled
made that noise
like someone from startreck
was checking me
for internal injuries
I raised a dog from a puppy
pure breed boxer
never grew up
even in his old age
always the chancer
kitten was different
cos every time he played
he trained himself to be
a stone cold killer
and he'd never even met
his enemy
strange to think of it
but, in the end who gives a shit
a mouse is a mouse
and no one really wants them
in their house anyway
thought it loved me

Men go to war to take what others have,
While others fight to protect their lands,
Although it’s chaotic it’s also a drag,
Because it’s difficult to understand.
The rich send the poor to fight the wars,
See, it’s really a money making scheme,
For one day it may show up at your door,
And you’ll need to defend your dream.
They go after those who have less,

Why do people go to war?
What is it they go fight for?
For some it's to settle score,
'what they did to us before';
others sense of outraged law,
a status quo to restore;
what 'they' did that was point sore;
or desire to 'shock and awe',
take 'them' down a peg, make poor.
