Poetry Contest

In 39 words or less, tell how censorship benefits Our sense of Community.

Sense or Ship

I am not a fan of censorship
In the wider world
But I learned a
community benefits
When it prevents the
Bullying of its members
and bringing the community
Into disrepute
I now self censor
Works better that way

39 words for censorship (written by well.... me....)

"
Generally it doesn’t help.
If your opposition is unreasonable,
Let them show it to the world!
When it may?
Perhaps when used to protect
The victims of a holocaust
From very painfull
Memories
They have
To bear
W i t h
Them.
"

note: Should be exactly 39 words if I'm counting correctly
note2: the "with" should be 1 word, I just had to stretch it as this site is using different font & so the line was suddenly shorter than I needed to be when I put it here

CENSORSHIP FOR FREEDOM’S SAKE

Censorship is good
Censorship is great
Nothing could be better
Than censorship
For censorship’s sake
Because we never value
Our freedoms till
Their taken away
Then we will realize
That censorship
Needs to be censored
In art and in the media
For democracy's sake

No.

Thus spins the ball of
a dollarstore pen
embedding it's head
into college ruled
virgin spread

With phallic strokes
emissions etch
& and seep in
thick & inky
a touch beyond the chroma
of smoke
to burn and poke friable eyes

Acrid angst pours
from this hard plastic shaft
I ejaculate
& impregnate pages
with privy postulations
fucking your conventions
into feeble subjugation

Because words WILL
flow
spurting from swelled
souls springs
the rich discharges of dreams
shot from evocative minds
provocative rousings of poetic kind

Potent & virile
procreant protests throb
syllabic surges
of emphatic blows

We'll lash our language against control
cold & closed
climaxing in inspired conquests
from the force of Censorship's throes

Who’s Watching?

For our safety,
They have controls in place,
For our protection,
They regulate but lie to my face.
Censorship is another word,
To limit the masses,
Censors say
They are watching out for society,
But then,
Who’s watching them?

Manners

In perfect places, there is
no need to hush, or
be hushed, for
we exude graces ingrained
in godly DNA,

yet we live in the world, of
sin and transgressions,
common courtesies drowned
in the piss of “self”.

Can you explain how your poem is in favor of censorship?

ATOMIkBOMB
won because the poem was the most refreshing, (so therefore the 39 word 'limit" was waived....it was actually meant as a suggestion rather than a 'rule')...........everybody's a winner!

Oh, I admittedly didn't even remember the limit, thank you especially and additionally for waiving that, and for the honor of winning this. I'm humbled and grateful to belong to such a talented community of creative folk <3
