POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
My goal is to create something of value, I welcome advice and suggestions and treasure criticism. PS: if you enjoy making simple 10 minute sketches with pencil, please hit me up - I've got some works that could use them.
Mixed Signals
A creak from front door,
an ex to an ex.
In cynical voice;
Backs two nervous steps;
"I never forgivi,
I never forgetti.
-
Now go to the kitchen;
and make me spagetti."

The Patient
the patient is here,
did keep me waiting -
took weeks to appear,
since our last session.
let's begin then;
they sit kinda weird.
annoying again -
seems like a habit.
lips after drought,
teeth a tad off,
strong smell from mouth,
hair like dead straw.
eyes too apart,
the nose is too big,
more abstract art -
than human being.
wrinkles on face,
fat in the thighs,
walk without grace,
and - talk without wit.
talents are naught,
humor just cringe,
attempts for...

Blanket
At times when you'll be damned if you don't
and you'll be damned if you do.
All things seem to get lost in river
and replaced by the new.
Concrete seems so soft when you're falling
and yet so hard when you fall.
It takes four steps to travel beyond
to ER - no steps at all.
Either way will reveal answers
no-one has the questions to,
and a body covered by a blanket
everyone can see right through.
and you'll be damned if you do.

Oh Ye Mighty
Can you hear us oh ye mighty?
Hear the rattling of steel.
Hear the roaring of the wood - and
the waves crush against the keel.
Can you see us oh ye mighty?
See our guns and our swords.
See the wicked ever sail on -
and it is ye we sail towards!
(Chorus)
So load the cannons! Raise the flag!
For the captain's order's clear.
Today we fight for simple right;
of wee children to cheer.
And should tomorrow never come;
or a brother lose their brawn.
In life, in death, with war in breath -
we...

Coconut Milk.
How do you milk
a coconut though?
Is there a
coconut cow?
I only know of -
the chocolate one.

Dear Government
i had no idea
that this body
i occupy
was a property
of yours.
Hence;
as any propper person would,
upon discovering they're
in possession of
a thing belonging to another,
i will be returning it to you
as soon as i can
and with minimal damage to it.
Please come to pick it up
at the earliest time of your convenience.
Thank you.

A Wedding Gift
An intruder in mail - hostile declaration
a war hatchet of one wedding invitation.
With address unknown, with a nostalgic scent,
brings, uninvited, p's q's and - torment.
Reads;
"Hello, old pal. How long has it been?
With so much news - I know not where to begin.
I hope you are well, and without pet peeve,
(forgave) Promises broken, the decade old leave.
I have stocked on milk since; got cigs in the end.
And I'm marrying soon - A one once your friend.
Come - or send gift. If you'll be so kind.
Kisses and hugs; your childhood love...

Heatstroke
One thermometer
bleeds mercury
the other -
battery fluid.
I am bleeding because
there's nothing left to sweat.
Why is the air on fire
every summer.
Suddenly - salvation!
My knight in shining armor
at the very back of the freezer
a little white box
'vanilla ice-cream'
Opening the lid -
praying to all things holy -
'please don't be empty'
huh? pistachio?
well, as long as it's -
cold.

Immortality.
i ask;
Where are original works born?
But in an act of forgetting the iterations that had come before,
and condemning those who come after.
With their letters rearranged,
and syllables borrowed.
They will live to die to be reborn -
different ever so slightly.
For the amusement of an uncaring god,
powerless almighty.
Pitiless in their own existence.
Silent and cold.
i ask again and i'm answered;
With half of me crossed off,
half taken from another,
and some parts rearranged.

Flightless birds.
Dreading their downfall.
A plunge into abyss.
They're running up a hill,
silence on their lips.
Covering their eyes.
Headphones on their ears.
They run from eldritch gods -
deep within their peers.
Ground trembles with pulse
of waves crushing the chalk.
Should one of them hear -
could they ever talk?
If approached by a dove,
seagull or a rook.
Should one of them ask -
could they ever look?
Each within their beak,
can smell the scent of salt.

With You
It turns out -
all that has beginning
also has an end,
That it's not years - but steps what makes you wise.
But as long -
as we walk forward
together hand in hand,
I worry not if to a cliff - or paradise.
If you went back, then maybe you would find it -
the turn you missed, that'd lead to better life.
But would you want - to even go and try it,
knowing our time may fade along the strife?
If I went back, then maybe I would find it -
the turn I missed, that'd lead to...

Monday
Come,
greetings withing faint sighs.
politely mumbled lies.
sun burns the morning eyes -
like fire.
With,
the drowsy battles fought.
derailing trains of thought.
embrace so easily bought -
by coffee.
Bland,
humor as dry as skin.
milk cartons in the bin.
rough scratches on the chin -
called "kisses".
Rise,
clock has no time to spare.
there's burdens yet to bear.
breakfast the morning prayer -
of wicked.
For,
life beyond evening gray.
enjoyable cliche. ...
