a mask for the emotionless
I wear him
and he wears
many
"a hammer
to nails
a sponge
to cheeks
a feather
in the air
a leaf on
the water
water to fire
and fire to
nonsense
cloaked in
sarcasm"
fighting back
any attack
with an
added force
to penetrate
the ignorance
I face
...till I first
wore him
a shoulder
to my tears
a hand to
lift me up
right part of
my brain
wrong influence
of my soul
still here
we are... in
harmony
I wear him

I'll smile when you look my direction
speak politely when we interact
if you have a need and I can help you
I will always lend a hand
but there's a little something
you should probably understand
that's just how I am
what you don't know about me
could easily fill volumes
what I readily allow, not a full page
if you've not earned my trust yet
you're still under observation
while I determine your true motive
I maintain my reservation
is this the real you
or just another face?
you may have a little data
bare minimum required
but who I am
on the inside
I'll keep that to myself
what you see is a reflection of you
not of me
make no mistake in your assumptions
unless I invite you in
you don't know me
for those few
who've been given a pass key
who know who I am
and how I think
never forget
you are precious to me

About our dreams and dirty secrets
Playing truth or dare in different sequence
I wanted to shout don't let go
But you looked so happy on your own
I wanted to yell hold my hand
I'm knee deep in pain I don't understand
I hope you are happy

And I cherish your memory
I'm living well

And yeah, maybe I feel alone
I feel like the ones I love
Love leaving on their own
And sometimes I hate watching t.v.
Where everyone seems to have
more friends than me
