Our Dear Katja...your work has been phenomenal throughout this comp. Your depth and range of the human psyche are fascinating. Your willingness to share the depths and beauty of female desires that mainstream society shuns have always been both educating and enlightening. So that a posters of your caliber joined the comp was exciting to say the least!

While we are in the midst of celebrating the final day of NaPoWroMo, let's keep in mind that while we do have 20 something eligible candidates -
- not everyone will receive a trophy if AFTERWARDS it is determined that certain participants committed too many rule infractions, such as returning to EDIT their entries even when they were repeatedly asked not to.
The rule was there for a reason.
Same as the rule regarding 50 unique words.

CYCLE IV: AIR
Winds of Change
I’ve stood on steps of coliseums, erect,
To east direct of cresting dawn’s assail.
I have in would-be king’s and shaman’s spect
Breathed air above my birth, behind the vale.
I’ve traded shit and sung my songs fore stars
And drunks on fest’al stage and backroad dive.
My nose has known both rose and comely spars,
The scents of flower’s sex and lovers’ strive.
For no perfume, though it’s divinely found,
Nor scent that has increased my wanton girths,
Affects me as her voice with words profound,
That whisper-shouts my heart’s desires in verse.
For poet and her poet’s way arrange,
Bring song and love upon her winds of change.
- and so my final offering, thank you Ahavati and Mr. Johnny for providing us the space to make the beat drop... and to all my fellow WriMo poets, if I may quote the poets - AC/DC - "Have a Drink on Me!"

Yeah, it's just one more
trophy on your shelf
likely to collect dust
But it is so much more
when you melt down the medals
and pour the metal into a single
testament to your commitment:
being the best
possible version of yourself
walking the spectrum of
all the alternate worlds
combined
these Paradelle Universes
where we live multiple existences
repeating verses in an untold
number of variations
none of which are ever perfect
nor can we retrace our steps
and edit our past mistakes
allowing us the luxury to fail

I think we should ALL give it up for a man who's written 150 poems this month! I'm both honored and in complete awe of his poetic ability! Hostessing with him has been an amazingly inspiring experience!

Not Predicted
Upon our first encounter
Full of fire and passion
We were truly captivated
Young and idealistic
Our desires set ablaze
Devoted and elated
Unconditional we thought
But far too immature
To reap what we cultivated
As that which burns too brightly
Just as quickly dissipates
Easily we underestimated
Bruised and wounded
But an amicable goodbye
As we mutually vacated
Our history was tragic
Soul mates sadly lost
But love was recreated
Affections rekindled
A rare second chance
Adoration rejuvenated
Lovers once again
Now husband and wife
Beautifully celebrated

I'm not exactly sure why you
want me to clap my hands and cheer
You ran and jumped up in the air
from that line over to here
In the sand, you made it
a few inches farther than last year
Congrats for you?
Hooray for Humankind?
So many thoughts running
through my mind
I don't know how to feel about this
need off yours to outdo your self
and everyone else in a contest
that amounts to nothing more
than beating your opponents
by a slight edge in score
measly increments on a ruler
How much money did you
give to the homeless?
How much time did you
spend mentoring a youth?
How much trash did you
pickup along a highway ditch?
So many actual real world
accomplishments of which
I could easily give a shit about

THANK YOU for that. In a World filled with human fear over lack of perfection, you have taught us the power of error and the awe-inspiring humility of being human by standing naked in front of our peers.
I will freely admit that I never thought I would adjust to my horrific typos that would cause one question my level of education. However, after reading this I realize how dependent we all are on machines for perfection vs ourselves for humanism.
The Wisdom you've demonstrated in that is something I could only strive for.
And you see, THIS is why I Dorothy should've loved Tin Man, as I do Magnetron the most.
Because their brain and processor is their heart.
So, yeah, "I think I'll miss you most of all."

THANK YOU for that. In a World filled with human fear over lack of perfection, you have taught us the power of error and the awe-inspiring humility of being human by standing naked in front of our peers.
I will freely admit that I never thought I would adjust to my horrific typos that would cause one question my level of education. However, after reading this I realize how dependent we all are on machines for perfection vs ourselves for humanism.
