anybody who says "I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL" does'nt and is lookin into it way too much. do not trust them........
express yourself how you are....
I disagree, with respect man. if you think you are the only person here that feels emotions then you're either arrogant or naive.
one of the best things about reading other peoples poetry is being able to relate to what they are feeling. if you do it right..it's gold.

Atakti, a message in our profiles only other mentors understand... I like it, very secret society-ish!
Johnrot I agree that nobody can really help you too much in actually putting your emotions into poem, but they can give you some insights that usually only come with experience. Most of my earlier stuff is just a blob of words on a page, but reading other poets work has made mine more presentable and a little more polished.

You totally misunderstood, lol!
I meant a very obvious comment, like: Willing to offer friendly critique, PM me..
or something like that.
LOL, where do people's minds go?

i don't think i'm the only person that feels emotions what so ever man, i'm just sayin i could never tell you exactly how you feel and niether you i. we can feel similar but there are too many x factors in the human experience to judge and speak for.
i love relating to others work and it happens often but my favorites are raw, off the wall things i've never heard anything like. i'm just expressing enthusiasm for individual original creation.........

interesting thread, I havent noticed this before.
Well for me I wouldnt have stuck around here if a mentoring program of sorts did not exist...it does
There are poets here that I consider peers that I constantly feed off their momentum. There is an exchange of "keeping up" with what they are doing, and commenting and such. Almost a creative competition, yet comradery
(fuck it i'll join the "DU confession" thread for a minute...Mr.A, Whitewand, Indie to name a few that I admire and stay up on because they all have craft, and passion and best of all a desire to keep it fucking moving..i know they love what they do and are willing to learn and teach)
There are poets here that are just out and out more experienced or just better,.or more refined than me. I love their work, and have no problem asking them for suggestions, and feel a hint of pride when they comment on my work.
(quick names I think of are Hemi and Jesta)
Still others that I havent made personal connections with, but stay up on their work, admire, and learn from
(couple of names are
Well Bragg, although im buddyish with him
heslop
aglitch
tryhardermartyr
panama
and more that are genuine artists, and I am sure would trade ideas anytime, when the digging needs done
I dont say any of this to drop names of favorites, but to point out that there is the best kind of mentoring program already in place here. One where its customized to help you find helpful colleagues depending directly on your involvement into the community

I understand what you mean, I've already had some sound advice from Gigi, heslopian and Craic and a few others who's work I like but it's not really obvious who's willing to help out and give some constructive criticism unless you stumble across their work and comment, which is where threads like this come in handy

i have had a few mentors here. A woman named Rachel who may or may not be a member anymore (I'm not sure), a woman named Aish who is no longer a member, and the great Heslopian. I'm always open to more mentoring from anyone here or willing to mentor anyone here as well.
