I had my last appointment with the foot surgeon today. The bandages and stitches were removed and since I cancelled the surgery I had scheduled for my right foot, there’s no reason for me to return. I asked for a referral for physical therapy, and I scheduled an appointment for next Wednesday before I left his office. I want to start rehabbing this foot. When I got home, I put a daily exercise alarm on my phone and Vase made me a veggie egg white omelet. It was a good morning, and I was happy, something I haven’t felt in the last few days.

The Pigeon Diet, Or Deity?
I heard a knocking upon my door. I was terrified, as it was my bedroom door inside my flat, not my front door. I called out nervously, "Who's there!" I thought i heard what sounded like a whispered "Choo". Odd name, i thought, and what on earth were they doing in my flat?
I picked up a heavy glass ball, and approached the door, with it clasped in my hand, as i opened the door quickly, glass ball in raised hand at the ready. Right in front of me, stood a giant pigeon, approximately 5 foot high!
As you can imagine, i was completely taken aback, at seeing a giant...

You know those conversations that you will always remember? I’m going to count the one I had with myself in the shower this morning as one of those conversations. I’ll paraphrase. Nobody needs to see what actually took place, including me. Let’s just say it started while I was sitting in my shower chair with my foot wrapped in a plastic bag, tapped like a mummy I didn’t ever want to escape while I was pulling knot after knot out of my very long matted wet hair. And it ended with me feeling more than cleansed. Oh, and by the way, I didn’t even cry. Not once....

Redneck Renaissance in The North Forty
I grew up in the shadow of Tallahassee where Blackstrap Molasses played 2nd fiddle to Bill Monroe's Blue Moon of Kentucky. Our home was a single-wide trailer sat cattywampus to the land field where we could, look homeward angel. Granny was in the jailhouse making license plates to be shipped out of state and I was in the kitchen painting the linoleum, worn-out floor. I was the preacher at The North Forty Pentecostal Church, where Skeeter Davis Ave. crosses Merle Haggard St.This week's "word" was taken from 'the 1946 edition of The Farmer's Almanac. "Hallelujah!" and I...

Any Weather
Do I like better the sun?
Or do I prefer rain?
Do I prefer the sound of rain?
As it erases all my pain.
Do I prefer the sun?
Because I don't feel the need to run.
Do I like better sunny weather?
Or do I prefer any weather whatsoever?
Do I prefer drops of rain.
That dry and don't leave a stain.
The ones, that heal and soothe the soul.
Clean you when you feel foul.
The sun shines upon your face.
And looks at you in shiny grace.
While the rain caresses your face.
Rain dripping in its own...

I Am The Song
Of Her Nautilus
Sweethearts loiter by the sea in the maritime province of the old country for centuries of sunsets over La Mer until Papa tells Galatea it is time to go to the city and seek her fortune there. But when her shore is engulfed by Neptune’s fury her island is adrift in the waves. Galatea and her man wear only their wedding clothes when like refugees from the lost continent of Atlantis they abandon the sinking land of uncertainty as they step foot upon the terra firma of marriage. But he loves the land more than her and chooses to live on one of...

The Study of Devotion
Chapter 2
Evangeline's unease grew as, over the next few days, she continued to see the man in the hoodie. He was often near Cindy's, but never interacted with her or anyone else in a notable way. She noticed that he seemed to appear in the strangest places: around the coffee shop, or when she was walking down certain streets. Each time she glanced up, there he was, blending seamlessly into the background of her daily life. It was as though he had become a part of her routine, an unsettling fixture she couldn’t ignore. Had he always been there? Was she just noticing him now?

The Study of Devotion
Chapter 1
The soft glow of dawn filtered through the dorm room window, and the jarring buzz of the alarm clock snapped Evangeline from her dream. She let out a groan that morphed into a yawn, then stretched. Rolling over, she stared at her ceiling for a good 15 minutes before her stomach growled, urging her into action. She got up, set her coffee pot to brew, and hurried off to shower. After dressing, she settled down with a bowl of cereal and a cup of hot coffee in her favorite mug, running her fingers through her cascading waves of brown hair and tucking a few stubborn strands...

DUP Mafia Romance Finale
Bethany
Since leaving Frank's office, I've felt a little unnerved. He knew I didn't want the money. Was it that obvious? But am I that person who can share her man? He made it loud and clear that he doesn't want a relationship in the sense of monogamy.
He also showed his cards that he wanted something I'd never given to any other man. Is Frank that's special that I will give my virgin ass to?
“Bethany girl, are you OK?” One of the backup singers asked.
I smiled at her and just nodded because whether I liked it or not, this is my career, and the show...

Silent - Caught In The Fire - Part 2
Now, Gavin
Switching on the flame again, the bloke set the cloth alight.
'No, don't,' Jace shouts.
Taking a few steps back, the Angel of Mercy hurls the burning cloth on the floor and ball of fire leaps from one side of the room to another, narrowing missing him.
'Run,' Jace shouts.
We leg it from the main storage area, into a draughty corridor at the rear, searching for a window or for something to escape through. I don't exactly leg it, as I can barely walk, let alone run, but somehow I manage to keep going, past cement walls with...

A Steed From Nowhere
The dim yellow light in the kitchen flickers with an erratic and unearthly dance, casting elongated shadows that writhe and twist with unnatural animation. The fire's uncertain glow only deepens the oppressive atmosphere, magnifying the dark, malignant presence that lingers just beyond the threshold of perception. The cigarette smolders in the ashtray, its tendrils of smoke curling upwards as if bearing the heavy weight of the detective’s dread and despair.
The kitchen, once a refuge of warmth and familiarity, now exudes an air of suffocating malevolence. The peeling floral wallpaper,...
