Winter Poems
#winter
Winter poems about the coldest season of the year, December to February in the northern hemisphere and June to August in the southern hemisphere. Winter brings short dark days and stillness, as nature sleeps. Here you'll find poems about the beauty of the winter months, and also poems about dealing with cold and challenging weather.
Have you had your break today?
A man by the name of Bruce D. Lipps was the owner of a McDonald's on the outskirts of Duluth, Minnesota.
Sometime in January 1996, he was driving North on Interstate 35 when he crashed his car.
There was a decent snowfall occurring with icy conditions.
His vehicle had crossed the median and into the southbound lanes before hitting a guardrail.
Bruce was able to climb out of the burning wreckage, pulled off all of his burning clothes and stood naked in the middle of the road.
In a matter of minutes, Bruce was run over and killed by an oncoming...

Cold Burn
Walked through the golden harvest of corn.
Beneath descending sun.
Fully knowing the winter of the mind
would soon be born.
That first stark ivory would stun.
Before I knew inner inferno's contain icicles too.
The cold burn left the clues.
His eyes were electric heat.
His words a brutal snow.
His smile a warmth so sweet.
His touch, the absence of tomorrow.
I walked the maze through the piercing sorrow.
Beneath descending sun.

BE, IN ALL THINGS BE (Sunday, 2-16-19, 1:30pm, Palm Springs, CA, while soaking in an outdoor, 105° Spa.)
be at ease
be in peace
be in stillness
be in calm
be in joy
be in love
be in light
be in awe
be in
all things
ever one
be love
be light
be joy
be calm
be still
be ease
be all
be one
be awe
in all
things
ever one
but above
and beyond
all else
above
just be
in all
things
always
true
to yourself
then
simply
always be
the truest
one and only
one
you and you ...

like trees best in winter and,
well yes, this is as far as I’ll go with
a nod towards erotica, I like trees
without leaves and undressed

Try Again
A 51 year old Canadian man suffering from hypothermia was hospitalized in Winnipeg after he jumped from a bridge four times. Police found him leaning over the railing of the bridge. Shivering & frostbitten, as he was about to plunge into the icy waters for the fifth time.
Despite the man's obvious determination, it is unclear why he didn't try a different method after the 1st attempt failed.

A memory from 2022
Summer smiles
Warm winter wishes
My jacket was too thin.
With my trusteds by my side I float inches off the cloudlike ground.
A whisp of pleasantries.
Cold cript seals with candlelight glow; hills on fire.
This winding path leads by pedals and glory summertime dreams hopes and stories.
The pond lights up and my childlike wonder but you were there to notice.
My two friends talked as I shivered with emotion.
Quiet now, gently.
Let her down sweet.
The air of the night and the rain on the streets.
It was a warning.
Not everything...

The Sound of Silence
It does not begin,
it does not end.
Never hear it start,
never hear it stop.
Ceaseless, present
at every moment.
This inner sound -
an object of sense.
With willpower we dominate,
breathing at our will.
Where we are subordinate
to the sound of silence.
An entity you cannot dominate,
but harness. No beginning,
no end, just present.
Our focus leading inwards.
it does not end.
Never hear it start,
never hear it stop.
Ceaseless, present

big coats/autumnal
in a short while it will be autumn, dear,
and we shall forget this bloody awful
summer and put on our big coats again
and look forward hopefully to next year

Cold Chills
Mercury rising
Got a bad feeling
like wolves
on the horizon
A forest of eyes in the darkness
I'm crawling.
Lost with little to none,
slim chance to get out
of the slump
or the hole
or the pit
pick your poison.
What's the matter, aren't you used to
surviving?
A sea of ghosts
On the shipwrecked coasts
I'm as rotten as
I've been since departing.
Got a bad feeling

Frost
How is something not lost,
Yet wanders and refuses to be found?
Dreary mists adorn steely frost,
Leaving a memory of the sun
A sea of long coats and tilted hats,
Gently walking through winter’s haze,
Their footsteps silent on cobblestone paths,
As daylight fades to twilight's gaze
The cold breath of the evening air,
Whispers secrets to the night,
Where shadows dance without a care,
In the dim, flickering streetlight
What once was clear now fades away,
In the mist where all is gray, ...
Yet wanders and refuses to be found?
Dreary mists adorn steely frost,
Leaving a memory of the sun
A sea of long coats and tilted hats,
Gently walking through winter’s haze,
Their footsteps silent on cobblestone paths,
As daylight fades to twilight's gaze
The cold breath of the evening air,
Whispers secrets to the night,
Where shadows dance without a care,
In the dim, flickering streetlight
What once was clear now fades away,
In the mist where all is gray, ...

Of Angels And Ice
Where art thou, glistening ice,
Who doth frame wings beating thrive,
Emissary of the celestial,
Where empire and angels revive?
Grant thy servants heavenly fire
Of this dead world's eternal snow.
Pray tell when the end time may show,
Seek the final march on Armageddon's field,
Adorned in the glistening light of faith's shield.
Prayers offered like sacrifice in the winter wind,
Cold whisper of the dragon tempts towards sin,
To collect the wage of wickedness paid in...

Emissary of the celestial,
Where empire and angels revive?
Grant thy servants heavenly fire

Seek the final march on Armageddon's field,
