Winter Poems
#winter
Winter poems about the coldest season of the year, December to February in the northern hemisphere and June to August in the southern hemisphere. Winter brings short dark days and stillness, as nature sleeps. Here you'll find poems about the beauty of the winter months, and also poems about dealing with cold and challenging weather.
Seasons end
Curse the cold is the eco in my throat
Nature's motto seems to be in with the new out with the old
I'm drenched in night too early
Too soon
The sun shrinks in size
Sends me shivering
I step on leaves crumbling
Leaves that were so carefully crafted, fully arrayed on trees a month ago
Nature let's them go to the winds
Icy mornings, frozen in motion
I creep about
Hiding from the outpouring of rain
Nature's in mourning
For it's beauty draining, crumbling, drowning, freezing, Browning
Am I but a blue myth
In...

Sea
I saiiled out to sea with just my boat and me
I took some time to reflect
The coastal breeze sent me in a direction it felt best
As I floated on this sea of brine
I realised what ide lost and what was still mine
The waved would crash and collide
Then all would go calm in their demise
So as the tide came down I headed for shore
And funnily I felt stronger than before
I took some time to reflect
The coastal breeze sent me in a direction it felt best
As I floated on this sea of brine
I realised what ide lost and what was still mine
The waved would crash and collide

So as the tide came down I headed for shore

Hold on to the voices
I’ve drowned out the time
I see you staring
oh, beautiful beast
I run my fingers down your perfection
a winter’s coat dusted in snow
I can’t feel the cold
past this ethereal form
but there is awe in my reflection
a dawning of light in eyes of earth
hands of water~
translucence
On the bridge
I’m walking beyond my mind
I’ve drowned out the time
I see you staring
oh, beautiful beast
I run my fingers down your perfection
a winter’s coat dusted in snow
I can’t feel the cold

rain rain
Rain rain go away
enough water for today,
too much wet or too much dry
you can’t decide what to apply,
moderation appreciated
or we’ll feel excruciated,
can’t go out can’t do a bit
as is no one can benefit,
the streets are lakes the fields are pools
we’ll stay indoors feeling like fools,
on the roads nothing is much
drive it slow braking and clutch,
we’ll drive on safe with extra care
to go back home without a tear.

Om
I do not weep
For things I have not seen
Temporary warm winds of October
Crows preaching silence
Two bored nymphs
Remembering
Disfigured seasons
Shadows
as long as sun-
Flower
One thought, one symbol.

*
Outside
The rain beat
Ten-thousand lashes
Against confessional screens
Washing chalk tattoo from grin to grief
Shrunk beneath rainbow leaves
A mausoleum of regrets
Fettered dust
Fading in solitary crib ...

Rockhollow Series: October Progress
Winter blinks,
awaking,
almost
strokes long fingers over naked ladies budding,
coneflowers,
windflowers,
the like.
Spikes of old artichoke are cut away, leaving fresh growth,
dragged across gold sand paths to compost,
tomatoes too.
One lone dragonfly hovers
in the periphery,
brown, oversized, slower.
I've been clipping
long strands of willow,
over, over again,
discarding the slats,
pulling away wire binds,
stretching it thin across spaced decking poles
and strapping...

winter comming
Why did they invent the winter
Hits form cold are like a splinter,
Aching ailments everywhere
Virus spreading in the air,
Some with flu some with fever
Using pills for a reliever,
Was it better till last week
When the heat was so much meek,
Some would say we’re better off
And the summer they would scoff,
Bu they would have to stay indoor
Instead of walking by some shore,
Its ok we may be different
And this reason is sufficient,
But when weighing all the facts
Winter shows a bit of cracks.

Guardian of the Mountain
A traveller walks the mountain path for days on end,
Through ancient storms he senses the coming of spring.
The winter air fuels a rage & leaves shreds of wings,
Inside him he feels the longing of the mountain.
Days of happiness drifts away in lingering cold,
Hibernates the weak of nature in a lake so old.
Protects every soul with warmth for coming of life,
Descents a man with touch of bliss in reprise.
A mountain sage waits for spring in cold forever,
Beneath the lake I immerse my soul in depth of winter.
Through ancient storms he senses the coming of spring.
The winter air fuels a rage & leaves shreds of wings,
Inside him he feels the longing of the mountain.
Days of happiness drifts away in lingering cold,
Hibernates the weak of nature in a lake so old.

Winter's Blush
Midwinter’s season on her lips,
a thawing blush tranquilizes the senses.
The dark of winter’s solstice
leaves me no lips to see to kiss.
Those pine-green eyes,
dusts of snow feathering upon her blushed cheeks.
There they melt,
glissading down her face.
a thawing blush tranquilizes the senses.
The dark of winter’s solstice
leaves me no lips to see to kiss.
Those pine-green eyes,
dusts of snow feathering upon her blushed cheeks.
There they melt,
glissading down her face.

rain return
And the wind brought us the rain
Cut the heat to chill our brain,
Wonder if we go to the beach
If this rain was just a breach,
Or we’ll have back the scorching sun
So the winter will be undone,
Cloud formations in the sky
are a wonder no deny,
mask the sun and chill the day
I want summer all the way,
freezing season frosty shivers
I don’t like those stormy winters,
The are just good to stay in bed
And be fearful with their dread.
Cut the heat to chill our brain,
Wonder if we go to the beach
If this rain was just a breach,
Or we’ll have back the scorching sun
So the winter will be undone,
Cloud formations in the sky
are a wonder no deny,

The Runes Pt. 4 Dagaz
Fires lit
burning into
the rising sun
Hands on drums
dancing to a new day
I breathe smoke
and exhale my pain
into the past
I down my drink
and throw myself
into the dancing fray
we sing our songs
belonging to the cycle
of this eternal
spiral
And I spiral-
a participant
of earth's
cycle
And when the last star
in our winter-clear sky
says its final goodbyes..
a new day has come
burning into
the rising sun
Hands on drums
dancing to a new day
I breathe smoke
and exhale my pain
into the past
I down my drink
and throw myself
into the dancing fray
we sing our songs
belonging to the cycle
of this eternal
spiral
And I spiral-

says its final goodbyes..
a new day has come
