Tasting Madness
screaming in sanity
laughing in madness
fears echoing in my head
pretending I'm real
but that's not how it feels
dissipating in solution
the science of confusion
three parts per million
life devolving in dissolution

The Dance Of The Skeleton King
Behold the dance of the rattling bones,
see how they click and clack,
the prancing of their skeleton feet,
a ballet to dazzle and to distract.
They pirouette with skinless glee,
then arabesque and take a bow,
and with a smile the king is pleased,
his loyal subjects did amaze and wow.
Hail to the king!
We only exist to entertain.
Hail to the king!
We pick up our bones and
dance again .
see how they click and clack,

fish for lunch
Fish for lunch
For breakfast, I opened a tin of sardines in oil
I don’t care for any fish, but it was all I had in the larder
My mother used to work at a canning factory
putting sardines in a tin, she and other women sat
by a conveyer belt working fast for a lousy income.
When she came home, the unsavoury smell followed
clung to her like an old winter coat, wet and formless
yet making its presence unavoidable.
We didn’t have a bathroom, but every Saturday mother
took the tin bath down from the wall, which was

I have been on this challenge of wearing braids per my bestie
Sometimes, I wish I just cut a lock of my hair and been done with the notion

The Dance Of The Narcissist
She laces up her shoes
and prepares to take the
stage.
She’s practiced it so many
times, this dance she did
create.
A dance to dazzle and impress,
her moves will wow them all,
but little do her patrons know,
each step is their downfall.
She’ll spin and twirl and
pirouette, she’ll tear them all
apart, and then for her grand
finale she will rip out all their
hearts, and when it’s done she’ll
take a bow for she cannot resist,
after all her dance is the best one,
the dance of the narcissist.
