Travel Poems
#travel
Travel poems, poetry about travelling and exploring the world. Poems about our human desire for adventure and exploration. Through travel, we explore and learn about the world, and ourselves. Poetry about encountering different cultures, taking on new challenges, and meeting people with very different lives to our own.
Honeymoon
We left Paris
a week after our honeymoon.
Correction.
I left you in Paris after a week.
I got lost at the airport
and ended up missing the plane too.
I ended up losing everything
that interested me.
I think it was all too little.
Small details and trimmed nails.
Details. So small.
I will not make any further corrections.

Let The Sunshine In
Live In The Moment
Embrace the inner you
Have faith, when all seems impossible
Manifest your dreams
Explore every facet of your inspirations
Smile at the world, and laugh with yourself

The Kings (Atlanta, Georgia)
I stood in awe of the beautiful roaring ocean
The elements of sea salt of its purification when skin is dipped in sacred benediction the soul rejuvenated in its harmonic motion
In the midnight hours the moon dancing off the reflection of the water to welcome my blessed naked offering to Mother Nature becoming one with the universe
Knowing there is nothing mightier than when the tide and the shores
greets
The coldness kissing my ankles, bathing my feet
My stance firmly planted in the sand
So many footprints entwined by woman, child, and man...

The Desolate Glove
One cold autumn morning in late November a glove on the clothes line decided that life with it's mate was boring & awful.
It persuaded the clothespin to render it's hold and blew away on the next breeze.
A little girl stumbled upon it and loved the pretty colors.
She took it home and her mother got notice of it and told her daughter to throw it away.
As she was about to throw the glove away in the garbage pail outside, she became sidetracked and left the glove on the ground.
A stray dog saw the glove and began biting & tearing at...

Roadside Manner
This highway air
is thick & bleeding.
A yellow sleep
in curt despair.
Windows down
for morning dew
on hard thistle blue.
A red flag noon
fuming mindful ooze
into white-hot stew.
A smile so sweetly
sang the horizon-
miles over my head
on a mobile bed…
"oh no, child,
THIS is the dream,
you are still in very real danger"

Liaison
The chariot's lull
the Light slowly fades
beneath the wheels
with words abrupt
a blanket of grit
on questing flesh
for a fresh-lit fire
talk is terse along
sharpened tongues
across prickly sheath
in hasty release...
a diamond-cut shaft
from the clinking strike
for movement as discussion:
scoring a night
on endless miles
of shadowed wire
as we come
to the motor's roar
a rising...

Crunchy *uck Harbor
Your ticket to Crunchy Fuck Harbor
is not an expensive plane ticket,
nor a cruise on a 5,000-passenger ship
with banks of intestinal looking water slides
It's not in any particular place in the United States
Or the world for that matter.
A trip to Crunchy Fuck Harbor
can be reached
via a simple stalk of celery.
Bite down
Hear it.
Be there.

Scent Of A Man
Umm, the presence and scent of a man
Magnetic attraction where his feet stands
His natural body charismatic aroma
Element of charms, seeping to awaken a woman out a sexual coma
Is it his eyes, the soul behind his life’s mysteries
Flirtation in his smile, tells me he has an undercover sexual history
It is his nose that smells out my charms
An enticing deep baritone voice, which turns me on
Is it the erratic heartbeat he has for a woman, his passionate relent
Stealing my breath, as he tenderly seals my lips in...

Not N Your Library Series II (Do You Smell Somethin)
Did something crawl up in him and died?
That is what his family thought while traveling in that shit smelling ride,
“Could it be those White Castle sliders or that burrito from Taco Bell
That is giving his ass cheeks pure hell,
“The windows did not come down because they were broke
And being immune to his own shit all the rest can do was choke,
“The air conditioner in the raggedy motherfucka did not function
Causing his wife to have flashbacks of the other night when they were fuckin,
“The room had to be aired out...

Finding Love at the Waffle House
The Waffle House on the outskirts of Lebanon, MO, exudes an unmistakable aroma of sizzling bacon and fresh coffee that seems to hang in the air like a comforting cloud. This quaint establishment features vinyl booths in shades of fading turquoise and a counter worn smooth by the countless elbows of truckers, tourists, and townsfolk that have propped there over the years. The linoleum floor, a checkerboard of black and white squares, bears the scuffs and marks of time and the shuffling feet of daily patrons.
