Lethargic struggle of the everyday
The daemon writ now pact
Ascension through the left handed way
Mortal dichotomy for celestial fact
Seventh tower raised and appeased
Three fold silence in Enoch's hand
Resplendence upon sacred release
Sigils drawn upon blessed sands
Gaping maw of darkness's reign
Heralding the blessed sounds
Gilded light breaking the chains
Of which shadow gives holy ground
Radiant stillness bound yet free
Golden ratios...

Good emotions are
fleeting, like the sun
trying to claw through
a particularly cloudy day,
desperate to peek through
the heavy, ash-colored cotton,
to once again catch glimpse of
the forbidden; the humanity, the life
far below. Oh-so different from
the grand expanse of space.
Its sheer desolation, brute
rending voids, and icy
cryptic matter. Ever
dark in the face
of nothing.

Beneath the golden kiss of light
Where sunbeams trace their fleeting path
There lurks a dark, a yawning blight
A silent hymn of ancient wrath

The morning sun took my shadow for a walk.
It flowed over concrete,cars and grass.
Sometimes playing hide and seek with much larger shadows or stopping when I stopped to greet a friend and chat to its own shadow buddy.
Most times it was by my side,a trusted friend.
Quite often though it would be up front hoping to get to the cafe first before the other shadows did.
Or it would be loitering behind me, a truculent toddler in search of its tantrum.
Everyone has shadows.
Some can't find the sun.

A Day Without Sun
I despise this wretched place
Where the sky forever heralds light
Sunbeams scorch and burn my face
A relentless, golden blight
I yearn for cold shade
The solace of shadowed rule
Umbral waters I'd wade
Immersed in its Cimmerian pool
I pray for the sun’s dying breath
For Nox to reign and smother more
Yet I know I plead in vain with death
This battle is lost, this endless war
From this cursed, red-dusted soil
I call to the night for its start
To end this gleaming, sky-lit boil
Return my race's starborne...
