Summer Poems
#summer
Summer poems about the warmest season of the year, June to August in the northern hemisphere and December to February in the southern hemisphere. Summer brings the longest days, where things heat up with summer fun, and nature is in full bloom.
Northern Cross
A poultry flock through Cygnus flew
almost beyond my sight...
so appropriate thereunto
they really made my night.
So silently they crossed the sky
northwest to Dipper stars
where dauntless flocks all learn to fly
like avian hussars.
Strange that I heard no honks therefrom
in all their midnight flight.
Did they to Lyra's spell succumb
or were they just polite?
I think 'twas acme Cygnus
preeminent above
that had the squadron virtuous...
in plumy gaggle love.

Hail to Jamaica, the Island of Springs!
Peace on her meadows her radiance flings.
Beauty and gladness have made thee, dear land,
The loveliest spot in earth’s wide, watered strand.”
—Astley Clerk, Jamaican Patriot (May 1868-May 1944)
summers shall not cease,
nor springtime, while the breeze
hoola-hoops the mango leaves
and stirs the guinep trees.
every flow’r that blooms
for maidens and their grooms,
every tear of him who grieves,
nor brevity assumes,
while the green grass springs
and...

Summer is ..
July
Heat
Staying light late
Watermelon
Flesh exposed
Complaining about weather
Humidity
Bugs
Alcohol haze
Horniness
This year political madness
They all suck
I’ll take Kamala
At least she’s lucid
Back to regular programming
Sleep deprived
Did I say horny ?
Mood
Would be poet
Widow Jane Rye
Gradation
He’s got a good curveball
The boys of summer
Beer

Gnomon
It was noon by the garden dial sun,
which, through a modicum of lazy air
bearing dragonflies on a midday run,
made lucent the primrose blooms everywhere
and burdened the clover with parching droop
striving to retain its March Irish green
even as the flourishing lettuce group
ruled the herbal and pepper scene
set against the cinder block background grey
with flecks of moss by porosity clung
to make it through the blazing solar ray
the almanac so ruthlessly hung...
like redolence in cornscateous air...
as assets...

Should I or Should I Not Water?
Green is turning brown
Water bill will be sky high
Summertime headaches

July
The swish and hiss,
the secrets of the summer trees.
As the breeze's bliss
ruffles sun baked naked leaves.
Radiant electric blue sky.
Neon rogue clouds
hold dreams in refusal to die.
The first day of July,
was a gusty blustery day.
Sometimes,
there exists no why.
Just a way.

As the breeze's bliss

Summer is finally here, and I feel like myself again.
The long, warm days, they gently heal my soul,
Each moment cherished, making me feel whole,
I wander through the fields of green and gold,
And in their beauty, countless stories told.
The rhythm of the waves upon the shore,
A soothing song that I’ve been longing for,
The sun’s embrace, it wraps me in its light,
A beacon guiding me through day and night.
In summer’s grace, I find my true reflection,
A time of joy, of peace, of sweet connection,
The worries of the past, they fade away,
Replaced by hope, by dreams of brighter...

summer is a wildly adventurous lady
skirts a'whirl & hair flying
she kicks up her heels with abandon
chasing butterflies & love
with a net of diaphanous allure
nights spent frolicking on the shore
while bonfires & fireflies cast a romantic glow
lighting longing in unsuspecting hearts
as lightning bugs dance above the grass
flickering little strobe lights in the dark
& her flesh tingles in the blazing sun
burnished by flushes of heated thought
caressed by warmth & afire in the night
wholly vibrant & alive ...

Summer Lost Memories
when summer comes, the day stretches his tail, sprawls wide, like being upon anatomy table .as my cat at home, lies napping in the shade, at the mercy of a burning heat, mercury boiling......not a fat mouse, nor a meat treat either could ever tempt him ,he likes to relax, flat on cool cement and sleep for hours, do not ever wake him up !!!
summer here, is synonym of fires, Blazes, Inferno, and Dante was so lucky enough to live away, just in history books, not on my concrete land. or else he would undoubtedly disclaim his Devine Comedy..
summer here is a crazy...

The Midnight Pacific
I dreamt of going to the beach
but the beach came to me
with all the colors to beseech
a midnight mind at sea.
And all washing in on a breeze
of sweet pacific air
and sweeter still through all the trees
of forests everywhere!
Then to an ocean sky I woke
of multi-layered gray,
wherefrom Poseidon gently spoke
his hydrologic say...
"Oh, when you finally get some sleep
when you were overdue
my spirits over land will creep...
and bring the sea to you"
but the beach came to me

And all washing in on a breeze

While He Was Doing Some Yard Work
Naked and
taking a shower in
the outdoors is how Mark saw Karen
while he was doing some yard work for his uncle
on one warm Sunday in the month of
June and which made him get
so turned on.
