Unforgettable
I wonder, myself whom I venerate
The voice of my heart if loud fair enough!
The hive of my life I strive to relate
Aspire to unleash my wonders, seems tough.
To craft a soul of light, creed of the core
The quest for mines of gems never shall end
The harsh thrusts I’ve learned not to deplore
For every stance there shall be a firm stand.
Pearly prints along your path, your voice carve
Sound sounds are seized and unforgettable
Medallions feeding souls to never starve
The bliss is a blessing increasable.
Sowing abiding...

Angels
(Fia Naturie/Billy Snagg)
I cannot compare thee to anything.
One look stops the very air that I breathe.
As angels kiss lips as soft as dew, sing,
For all that I yearn will make me believe.
And I carry on musing just the same,
Through life's tribulations, dancing a tune.
Loving each other, there can be no shame,
Proceeding in time to the sound of June.
Now when I think back to those pastures ripe -
Carefree and joyous for all we were worth,
Even on days we would carry a gripe -
Still you're my sunshine, my heaven on...
I cannot compare thee to anything.
One look stops the very air that I breathe.
As angels kiss lips as soft as dew, sing,
For all that I yearn will make me believe.
And I carry on musing just the same,
Through life's tribulations, dancing a tune.

To Write a Sonnet or Not to Write
To write a sonnet or not to write…tight
The question is...can you stick to the form?
If you do participate in this rite…right
Then you best be prepared for a brain...storm
Old Shakespeare used to spill his ink with ease
For some it takes years to improve the art
But to be clear it’s not always a breeze
When the rhymed lines come straight from the heart
You just have to practice and exercise
While you’re at it add some wordplay and pun
Proofread and comprise, edit and revise
Then you’ll see composing sonnets is fun

Defeated
What have I seen?
not actually sure
a losing team
is there a cure?
Batters could not hit
pitcher let up many runs
balls popping out of mitts
fans annoyed; this was no fun
No hope for them
fans have gone away
behind by 10
maybe some other day
Fans today were shedding tears
future days may bring applause & cheers

Flawed Lines
I find I only write imperfect lines
in the flawed poetry that I write
regardless of any perfect designs
which do inspire within the night
As I dabble in this wet ink
attempt to find something worthwhile to say
just doodling here upon the very brink
in this endless game I now must play
Wondering what I will find
when my poetry does end
perhaps some peace of mind
or some rationale I can defend
But regardless of the rhyme
each poem is a confessional time
in the flawed poetry that I write
regardless of any perfect designs
which do inspire within the night
As I dabble in this wet ink
attempt to find something worthwhile to say
just doodling here upon the very brink
in this endless game I now must play
Wondering what I will find

or some rationale I can defend
But regardless of the rhyme
each poem is a confessional time

Roll out the Barrel
I think Jill, by now, has got my measure
of how I spirit away time and cash,
scolded for taking a drink at leisure
then get a taste of her tongue, like a lash.
Though it's a rum do I nod and agree
although it does so go against the grain,
but there, bottles, for all the world to see
an' me the tipsy culprit once again.
My corker of a plea ' wet the tot's head?'
spirited her not a bit same as before,
but I keep mild no bitter whining gets said
just bottle up because Jill knows the score.
For I take no...

Siren's Song (sonnet)
Poetry is a dangerous siren’s song,
That calls the soul towards a chasm deep,
Dulling the mind and making the heart long,
For that which it may touch yet never keep.
A Sonnet is too much the friend of truth,
And leaves no room for self-deluding lies,
It conjures up the honesty of youth,
And artifice through artifice soon dies.
Essential truths will spill onto the page,
Transpiring through the pores of consciousness,
Leaving exposed the battles that we wage,
To build facades of hope for hopelessness.
I can deny the...

Sonnet to a Friendly Critic
When did she lose touch with my inner heart?
Was it so long ago she held it near?
It was so easy from the very start,
To share it all with one I love so dear.
How can she thumb the pages of my life,
And find fault with the words at every turn?
So easily she crosses out a line,
Ignoring all that from it she could learn.
I smile, she smiles, but does not understand,
And she goes on, perusing through my soul;
In just a moment I will take her hand, ...

Mixing Substances
How not to drink – I learn the trick too slow -
acerbation, and too confrontation,
forgetfulness of grand dispensation,
mistakes against the host, the first to sow.
I take a toxic mixture, which makes grow
deluded speech (like hallucination)
whilst others speak words from lucubration,
I think it makes the wrong impression, though.
Perhaps requirements of a certain faith
require, for me, I don’t see dragon wraith
following toques more akin to hot knives
but have a little cracker, cheese and chives.
I’ve had some weed today to...

A Change is as Good as a Rest
I used to stand on issues of the day
to walk, to bus, reducing CO2,
a pescatarian, I was one too,
but now I’ve realised how slight my sway.
When other’s throw environment away
I can’t correct that which the masses skew,
and if they see no wrong in what they do,
I do not lead, when I am waif and stray.
It’s clear you do not wish to be like me,
let me like you, enjoy a BLT,
at least whilst I recover BMI,
then may return to eating pie in sky.
Moral, I never was no Jesus Christ,
it was complex, the way the threads were...

Madness is no Excuse
I spell my crimes with ambiguity
in words in poems here on printed page
in doing so, like me, not wise or sage -
I wish attempt explain in poetry.
I think a punishment, a certainty,
it’s sure as fire coincidences rage,
just like my poor formed inner mental cage,
and I would ask, extend not misery.
It may not strike, but I feel penitence,
and grasp the things society resents.
I understand the evil of my ways,
and alibis, no watertight displays.
The cause, insanity, to be quite frank,
the cure, let others judge of...

Readjustment's Request
The traits that form a personality
may undergo a fundamental shift
and leave persona and its mind adrift
replace the certain with uncertainty.
Remaining narrative – fragmentary –
the Psyche, it experiences rift,
interaction, much changed, may fail to lift,
a person lacking former levity.
If such a shift is formative, all fine,
(require sound thought and mood to intertwine)
a forward step, instead of stumbling block,
a readjustment to the inner clock.
No doctor, drug, prevents catastrophe,
grant such folk time to...
