Let the rain be me
Girl I know the sun has gone
the clouds have come here all along
rain is your only friend
this storm never ends
I know that winter has a lonely sting
But winter soon gives way to spring
rain is falling tender
life begins with all it's splendor
I know your skies are dark & grey
and the rain comes down all day
rain can be fresh & sweet as I know you are
if you take my hand we'll travel through the stars
Rain is falling tender eternally
Let the rain be me
the clouds have come here all along
rain is your only friend
this storm never ends
I know that winter has a lonely sting
But winter soon gives way to spring
rain is falling tender
life begins with all it's splendor
I know your skies are dark & grey
and the rain comes down all day
rain can be fresh & sweet as I know you are
if you take my hand we'll travel through the stars
Rain is falling tender eternally
Let the rain be me

Flood Warning
the day sacrificed itself to me
shifting in the moment from grey to blue
I hate the grey days
I was sullen inside and needed the sun
an internal storm was building inside of me
it was a flash flood warning
meaning I might cry
I held the feeling tight
shaking it off as it threatened rain
I was stoic not showing anything
but I felt it as an irrational fear
fear of everything and nothing
this world is beautiful but deadly
it hurts this place physically and mentally
to feel happiness is to know pain intimately...

Storm
In the night your electricity
flashes upon my vein's doorsteps.
Your thunder's roar roams
my brain's craving cortex.
You are here.
No longer protected by just near.
Rain thrashes my ground,
liquid lust.
Flashing, roaring, drenching.
Invitationless.
Away blows my dress,
naked plains of flesh.
To receive your storm.
My deep soul severely
transformed.
flashes upon my vein's doorsteps.
Your thunder's roar roams
my brain's craving cortex.
You are here.
No longer protected by just near.
Rain thrashes my ground,
liquid lust.
Flashing, roaring, drenching.
Invitationless.
Away blows my dress,
naked plains of flesh.
To receive your storm.
My deep soul severely
transformed.

Ode to Grey Skies
A Sonnet
I write to thee oh beautiful grey skies
Thou has blessed us with plenty of fine rain
Thine sight might be a pain to some sore eyes
Thus I pen this ode but not to complain
Every day thy clouds look a bit scary
Another storm forms filling us with dread
Local news makes us weary and wary
As downpours and floods are surging ahead
So I ask thee oh beautiful grey skies
Please listen to my pleas and humble rhyme
The drawn-out drought has come to a demise
We prayed for rain but not all at the same time
...

Wind Witch
She doesn't need an umbrella
to trace the Wind Witches' route
between flooded crevices of page
They were born of a deluge
their desert emerald quartz
sprouting striped red and purple;
succulent birth of disturbed soil
whose prickly plumage created
sirens in barren wastelands
Mercury rises, his molten heat
fries floral axils to the bone
leaving skeletal thistles bleached
A zephyr snaps immigrant spines ...

Rain
Syncopated rain
taps my window as I pause,
dancing off the leaves
fluttering in the garden
and off the blue jay's bright wings.
taps my window as I pause,
dancing off the leaves
fluttering in the garden
and off the blue jay's bright wings.

REMEMBERING THE RAIN FALLS
As i sit here and watch the rain fall silently from the sky as my mind wonders with the sound as it beats upon the ground, bringing music to my soul filling it with tranquilness of peaceful thoughts to my soul and mind.

Hearkening
Some days are chimed by gentle wind
and nimbostratus gray
almost as if Poseidon grinned
upon the land for play...
so no extremes of hot or cold,
or shadows and sunbeams,
would strike a critter as too bold
for critter self-esteems.
Thus the furtive squirrels draw near
when that state of affairs
reduces all their rodent fear
about their weather cares.
But Poseidon's weather command
at last must call it quits,
at keeping dry the squirrel land,
with nimbostratus spritz.

primitive spirit
dance with me on a thundercloud
while the skies burst their seams
spin me across lightning bolts
as night spreads her wings
cobalt smudges bearing grudges
stomp the evening pale
leaving their darkened mark
as daylight meekly slips away
as flashes strobe through shadowed patches
touch my upturned face
kiss me
here
in the heart of the tempest
breathing deeply of my rapture
torn between the caution I've always practiced
and throwing myself to the wind
where gales wrap passion around...

MY FAVORITE RAINBOW COLOR
As the storm rages
and the billows roar
and the wind sings
its own songs;
as promised the storm
passes, the sky starts
to clear, the birds begin
to sing and harvest their meal;
and there, as promised,
is the rainbow with its
amazing hues: yellow, green,
crimson, and blue all perfectly
painted by the hands of nature;
as the sun shines behind the
rare work of art, I am fascinated
by my favorite color, blue...why?
I'll tell you why after the next storm.
