Treaty lies hidden behind smiling eyes
Shaking hands baring blood of shaken lands
The remains of buffalo slaughter surrounding all sides.
Misinformed malicious murderers making massacre
On Cypress Hills side.
Wounded Knee brings Terrorist America to a bloody knee.

I wouldn't mind if this one gets degraded and hated
Do you know why we never seem to acknowledge how much we have in common,
But know what we have so different?
Because our Media select what we seeing
Riots, hatred, violence and everyone thinks they're the victim.
When was the last time you turned on a TV and saw a black man and white man hugging it out?
It's black lives matter, and all lives matter
The Morden segregation that none of us seem to figure out.
I wouldn't mind if this one gets degraded and hated
But the truth is, there's no black and white
It's us who select to see...
But know what we have so different?
Because our Media select what we seeing

Meticulous mayhem”--
What a paradoxical phrase to wake up with!
And yet, there it was this morning,
begging to be put to use;
but I had no idea how.
This evening, an assignment I’ve chosen;
learning history, politics, spirituality,
violence inflicted by country and church
on indigenous brothers and sisters;
stories gut-wrenching and hard,
but white woman’s tears serve no purpose here;
my job is to listen and learn.
This work requires intentionality,
discipline for difficult conversations,
a conscientious,...

Did you feel it
The shame of what you did?
I did
I wished I bit my tongue.
Did you feel the wrongness,
That you had no right-
I did
I wished I’d “minded my own business.”
Did you know
The way your action spread hatred?
I did
I didn’t want to hurt your feelings.
Were you embarrassed?
When I said “that’s not okay”
I was.
I wished I could disappear.
Did you really think
Linger on your own words?

I thought you might be right

Just when we get a victory,
The very first win...
Here comes the reminder:
This is a state we’ll always be in.
A country built from the labor of slaves,
I suppose I shouldn’t expect much more,
After all, this has always been their way,
To live our lives without fear is too much to ask for...
Instead we just have to say a prayer after we’ve opened the door.
Pray for a save return,
Because you never really know,
Never know when a homicidal manic may decide it’s time to feed his Ego.
They claim to fear for their lives, ...
