Poem
moving the human
heart far
afield
like birds with broken
backs singing
praises to the
pain of
saints
pain makes a wounded
God take
notice
some noble cause held
captive by the dirty
virtues of
man
a rock upon which
to break the blue
skies of
heaven
heart far
afield
like birds with broken
backs singing
praises to the
pain of
saints
pain makes a wounded
God take
notice
some noble cause held
captive by the dirty
virtues of
man
a rock upon which

List #10 Favorite Quotations
1. "It doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how many calories you burn playing the game." - Me (probably many others too). I think this to myself when my aim is off on the basketball court.
2. "You sir, are drunk!" "And you madam are ugly. The difference is in the morning I shall be sober." - Sir Winston Churchill. Slay. Major slay.
3. "Have you ever noticed there aren't any rocket scientists named Wendy?"- David Letterman. Made me laugh when he said it as a throwaway line on his show years ago. Not one of my favorite quotes,...

Bourbon Street Lady
Bourbon Street Lady
I pop the cork on a Chardonnay bottle dreaming of drinking our sorrows away till my wine blush cheeks warm. I lean over the balcony railing gazing down at Bourbon Street with the blues my only hope for sleep this night when neon prayers aren’t enough to keep the raven at bay who watches me with steely eyes. Marsha strips into the lingerie loneliness of a once starry-eyed Catholic school girl who wandered the hallways of “Our Lady of Perpetual Penance.”
She continues, “You know on nights like tonight I feel awful about how I earn my bread. My patrons...

Shalom
An embedded arrow from Cupid’s mystique bow
It’s now up to me to sow the seeds of love and reap the benefits of its growth
Whoever the receiver in the lifespan makes me a believer
Those piercing arrows make the heart feel beautifully adorned
Warm, all fuzzy inside, after time, then spiritually conform
Not to worry, everyone has had their company, for sure
Trying to keep the spark of emotions in the creation of a higher self, one must endure
My intentions to self-love have never been detoured, or evaporated...

giving birth (poetry)
you have
gave birth,
not to
something
new, but
something
old,
you are
the mother,
you are
the father,
each word
is breath,
each line
becomes
age,
now you
place them
out there,
on
their own.

I wish
I wish
I were your dish
So you would
handle this china ware
with love and care
bang me on your table or bed
but be careful not to break
Lay some meat upon me
hot and spicy as you like it to be
Use your fork and spoon
Play some tune
Raze me ,cut me
or tickle me ,whatever you wish
Eat mousse off me
holding this plate gently
Lick off the choco sause
lick until I'm clean
carry me in your hands
to wash off...

dust
dust used
to be crushed
under feet,
dust often used
to be wrapped
around the feet
of children,
now
after dense fog,
when the wind's
strength has increased,
that dust has gone
up to the sky
to establish its world,
as if the dust is
honoring its own self...

Lammas Bread
I keep trying to find meaning
in the circular nature of my life
like trying to find the corner
in a round room
My Celtic ancestors
celebrated the seasons
found meaning in the ordinary
cycles of life
(and probably drank
too much mead at every festival)
February 1 in the Southern Hemisphere
day of the autumn harvest
and I'm attempting to make
Lammas Bread for the first time
The recipe wasn't handed down
through the generations
I found it on a clothing website
that sells gothic...

Indelible Lines
Oh, how much i long
For the vintage sound of the olden music
The plaintive violin, under the gentle caress
A stroke of a piano-keys, by slender fingers
Of which the joy is not the less..
Oh, what a craving i do have !!!
Golden fields sway like sea-waves
The waltzing dance of the Summer wheat
Ripened under May's heat
The cheerful grasshoppers' sizzling shriek..
With hot chirping, skipping
Wheezing, such a cosy bossom
Where throbbing sentiments live
...

Anam Cara
A thousand times we met at this
Raw and beautiful place in the wild
Pondering spiritual topics
Reading stories and poems
Sharing mysteries
Guardians of each other's secrets
Now our ships take different directions
I have always encouraged you
To follow your inner calling
To embark on your hero's journey
But I overrated my ability
To cope with your departure
In your absence
I feel naked and vulnerable
I have forgotten all the lessons learned
My Anam Cara
My once in a lifetime soul friend...

I have always encouraged you
To follow your inner calling
To embark on your hero's journey

Existential View
Largely the troubles of this life
Burning fires of struggle and strife
In this life, there seems to be time
Between the start and finish line
Delusion feeding illusion
Everyone always dies alone
Is it music or just a tone
Dancing to the rhythm of life
Celebration of no real strife
Forever living in this time
One moment it's all on the line
Jubilation of exaltation
Realizing you're never alone
Legacy built on a milestone
Everybody is the same
But from various viewpoints
Burning fires of struggle and strife
In this life, there seems to be time
Between the start and finish line
Delusion feeding illusion
Everyone always dies alone
Is it music or just a tone
Dancing to the rhythm of life
Celebration of no real strife
Forever living in this time
One moment it's all on the line
Jubilation of exaltation
Realizing you're never alone
