Mata Furry
On a Spring day,
five years ago,
I heard a loud knocking at my front door.
Approaching to answer,
I heard a faint scratching.
First checking the peep hole,
I saw not a soul.
Then the bell rang.
Carefully, with trepidation,
I opened to see
a pure white bunny staring up at me.
Irresistibly adorable I let the little guy in.
Barely crossing our threshold,
the creature hopped
to our den
as if on a mission.
I said, “well aren't you bold” and...

A Bewildering Emergency
Look out!
They're coming for you
Who is it?
Why me??
I'm perfectly healthy
How did I get here?
What happened?
I'm on this table, motionless
I can hear & see but I can't talk or move
It's like I'm in some sort of comatose state
I can see the nurses & doctors talking but i don't see their mouths moving
They continue to look towards me
I see a few shake their heads
One of the nurses has this large needle
She's walking towards me
I don't like this one bit
There's no way I can stop or defend myself ...

The Beauty (Sleep) & the Beast
Crawling space, the beast lurks near
grit to wit in creep of dream
poor as dust on gold to wist
carving eyes that shout & beam
groaning highs of spine & trace
dazing sweet for kiss of bite
dark in cloak of night & lace
star & map the chosen site
drawing down to sheathe with ease
saw the light with guts & knife
gone to ground this crush & breeze
moonlit song of blood & life
tangled forces foam with red
open gash wills quick & blue
blackened steel through dawning head ...

The KinkWizard
The KinkWizard, there she goes
Walking by, in her gown that glows
Her cape awash with spattered blood
Over her a head, a hoarded hood
A mystical being, so warm, so pure
You’re drawn in by her illusive demure
Cosmic qualities, calm and collected
Ensnared by her spell, reality rejected
Who is she, and where is she from
Better be quick, or she’ll catch you, run!

It doesn't add up!
There's a topsy-turvy place
where time runs backwards,
numbers aren't what they seem;
logical rules apply,
but not the logic we're used to.
There's a wonderful place
where I've just aged backwards
because forty-seven is less than forty-six.
Nothing is something,
zero is bigger than one million,
yet the best gift
turns out to be worthless.
In this place,
women are valued more highly than men,
but children are valued most of all.
The greatest rewards
come from working with those that seem,
on first...

In Plain Sight
On holiday in Lisbon, going round the zoo,
I suddenly remembered that I had a job to do.
I had to write with some aplomb, as soon as I could;
with so much going on, gracious me would it be good?!
Well, I'd already had rum, so while I sat down to think,
I ordered ravioli, nicely washed down with more drink.
It was an urban joke, being so very sleep-deprived;
Inspiration really lagged, but regardless, it arrived.
To finish this, I had to have a stab, late at night.
When my phone began to buzz, it heralded the light.
Although my work...

The Invited Guest
One moonlit night I was in my convertible driving through the city of Las Vegas, NV
After losing a lot of cash and getting into a fight with my wife
I went to see a silent film for mature audiences only
As I was leaving the city limits, heading back home in California
I saw a hitchhiker waving me down
He looked mousey, a little disheveled but I felt bad for him
He told me his name was Sid
I asked him where he was headed
He said, “Anywhere you’re going, I’m fine with.”
I thought that was odd
He told me that he was coming from a desert grave...

Grandmother's Mood
When she was young she was known to have a temper
She may have been little but she sure stood strong
But as she got older she became a different person
Her faith gave made her more stoic, pensive and calm
Grandma only gave a few hints about her past life
She had a rough childhood, she suffered and fought
But when she found her faith she had a connection
To put it simply, let’s just say the woman prayed a lot
It wasn’t until we were older when we got a glimpse
A couple of us kids and grandkids had really pissed her off

Descent
Then I fall and stumble
and I get back on my feet
as if things had wings
and support me in the air
and the lungs were so full
that I could no longer breathe.
A scream runs through the veins
and takes the ghosts with him
to the open gates of hell,
where the many-headed dog awaits his pay.
All my skin trembles under the itching
of unknown desires left on the floor
or floating in gusts of wind.
Discontented, distraught and obscure

He Said That It Was Supposed To Be A Harmless Little Experiment
Zayna woke up
one Sunday
and discovered
that she had somehow been
stripped naked and sleeping
in Leopold's bedroom
due to the tonic Gabe gave his guests.
