the tasmanian tiger
The Tasmanian tiger
The last one died in captivity in 1936
and that was a sad moment for humanity,
added to the list of animals we have eliminated over the years.
The Tasmanian tiger was easy to kill. It didn´t know
how cruel we are.
There have been sightings of it by gullible people, but it is an illusion
based on regrets and unspoken longings.
I, also hope, it exists somewhere, but it is a dream,
yet I have seen the animal in clouds formation in the sky
forever condemning us for what we did.

The Last Lion
The lion roams the plains
On the prowl, he shows no fear
He is the hunter
Or so it would appear
He's spotted his prey
And moves in to attack
He fails to hear the sound
Of a rifle cocking back
The lion strikes
And makes his kill fast
He thinks the jobs done
But the feeling won't last
He starts eating his catch
But the lion's soon stopped
A quick pull of the trigger
And the lions now dropped
A couple emerge from the bushes
They'd been hiding in cover
They kiss in celebration ...
On the prowl, he shows no fear
He is the hunter
Or so it would appear
He's spotted his prey
And moves in to attack
He fails to hear the sound
Of a rifle cocking back
The lion strikes
And makes his kill fast
He thinks the jobs done
But the feeling won't last
He starts eating his catch
But the lion's soon stopped
A quick pull of the trigger
And the lions now dropped
A couple emerge from the bushes
They'd been hiding in cover
They kiss in celebration ...

The River Gorge
With the roar of a mighty lion
Ripping through her ebon bone,
You can hear the river cryin’
From great gorges etched in stone.
The scars upon her surface,
Carved by waters running red;
Through her scarlet epidermis,
By the mighty riverbed.
As harsh weather and erosion
Transform the rock back into sand;
With the sound of an explosion
By which many fishes swam.
Churning into motion, dust
From the rusty-colored land;
Returning to the ocean cusp,
From which it once began.
Ripping through her ebon bone,
You can hear the river cryin’
From great gorges etched in stone.
The scars upon her surface,
Carved by waters running red;
Through her scarlet epidermis,
By the mighty riverbed.
