humanity
my soul hurt, I could feel my brothers and sisters ache
it was like a constant pain that throbbed in the background
and I carry it year in and out
a heaviness of feeling that I could put down for a moment
then it was yoked to my soul again
every cut, every burn, callous words and injustices
when a being hurt I hurt with them
anxiety would build and the pressure would start
such a powerful feeling, being connected to these old souls
I bear their burden with them
never seeing their faces but knowing their pain intimately ...

you find yourself pondering, life's complex song.
The moon, a cheese wheel, rolls across the sky,

This is a place I never would have thought I could even go to. The asylum doors are bare. Their sanctuary smells and sounds never have washed off me. When ever I am ready, if and when this day arrives, promise me this do not take me here. Stay at my side, wash the cobwebs from the corners of my mouth and eyes. Do not dry my tears. I've been feeling claustrophobic, I mean like static inside my body
internally reaching out to touch the sky
my soul longs to fly
take a breath and take flight
nothing hindering me
changing the vibe on the airs
because lately it's been frantic
fanatical, got me fearing war
getting all kinds of noise from the left and right
my fears are legit
my heart swells, then fails me
watching the plight of the Earth
humanity is hurting
animals are suffering
everyday on the net I'm left crying
my empathy...

tender understanding, I am breaking
broken pieces being battered by a mighty wind
an empath feeling the groans of others
I feel each strike like it's my own body
fears hunt my mind while I sleep
we are in the hands of something larger than ourselves
connecting on the air I shelter those I can
with my voice shout against injustice
if I were to dwell on it, I would blow away as ash
leaving little help to those who surround me
with quiet courage I hold onto the good
