A fiery beast is all I have to say
Flies, Maggots, Earthworms and roaches
They spill out of the earth's core

natural connection
languid day, contempt with boredom
moving in slow motion
still moments of life caught in black and white
An old photograph, quiet but poignant
bittersweet in its presentation
The gentle flower blowing in the wind
The grass blades reach for the sun
The trees gossip among each other
talking about the girl with sunshine hair
wondering, could I see the beauty in the long day
With grumblings of nothingness and sorrow I languish
Then the day reached for me
inviting me in
I contemplate her graciousness
Humanity...

Date night
Agave tingled my tongue
because you
you squished me
until I turned my head
for a proper kiss,
which almost
distracted me
from the giant pink
dildo on my phone screen
Almost.

shrugged my shoulders
as you nibbled my earlobe
to get you to stop,
so I could resume
the argument

Us against the world
For sure you were my peace 🕊️ From the beginning it was something about you that caught, my 👁️👁️ eyes and as the conversations grew over time, as we became closer than close and deeper than deep. ❤️ For the first time in my life and world, I felt like I was standing on top of the world. 🌎 That's when I knew, that you were the one for me and I for you 💟 For even though we had our ups and downs, and I got sick with cancer. 😞

In the midsummer heat
our blues are in retreat.
Joie de vivre in the street,
the disco pounds its beat.
Dresses are less discreet;

Laughter
The other day I made my son read a tricky tongue twister of a poem
And he laughed like he hadn’t laughed in such a long time
He struggled and spat and tried and spat some more all over the phone
It was a verse full of elaborate alliteration and constant rhyme
In the mornings my wife and I have interesting conversations
I wake her up with quips and gags saying things that are kind of…improper
I even make myself the butt of the joke and walk into them
As she laughs I’m left I wondering why I’m not such a panty dropper
Everyday I send...

Dear Betty,
I’m writing this letter to formally say, thank you.
Thank you for your hard work, dedication attention to detail as well as your constant efforts to keep me on task and up to date with edits. Your dedication to time lines and support when I didn’t think I could make the schedule made this super easy, you carried my ass the whole process, leaving me to simply write and edit. While it is a collaborative book in terms of writing all of the effort of creation, poem selections, pairing of pieces, collating the making it cohesive, on top of finding a way...

Final minutes of gig day
This here is a makeshift poem –
I’ll grab me some words and I’ll throw ‘em
on a page just to say that I did it.
Before midnight I have to submit it.
I’m exhausted, this day was so busy;
spent hours of it in a tizzy
preparing my rock ‘n roll show
and getting myself in the flow.
What a joy! My kids came along,
and they danced to so many songs.
Now I feel that my life is complete:
I’m a mom AND a rock star – how sweet!
.

The Dreamtime
I'll be making more room for them;
all those twilit hours
percolating my next poem
in the gloaming that empowers...
where night and day both conspire
to set the mind at ease
for the coaxing of desire
by gentle lumen tease.
There the blooms of thought come to mind
like a greenhouse flower
or fruit with a consenting rind
from a teeming bower!
It's a slice of heaven to see,
like a willing lady
who in a frolic will agree...
with a bard who's shady.
