Beauty So Rare
You ask me what beauty is
And I will tell you
There is a passion flower
Which blooms at midnight
When the moon is full
In a garden, away from the city
There by a window it blooms
Opening itself up to the world
The pedals, the pistil,
The stigma and the stamen
A flower so delicate
Magnificent to behold
The intoxicating aroma ...
And I will tell you
There is a passion flower
Which blooms at midnight
When the moon is full
In a garden, away from the city
There by a window it blooms
Opening itself up to the world
The pedals, the pistil,
The stigma and the stamen
A flower so delicate
Magnificent to behold
The intoxicating aroma ...

where real men love
summer's daisies
have all lost their petals
to the cold winter's chill
they are reminiscent
of our lust, love affair
vibrant & bright
then faded like my beauty
at first frost
with a cold shoulder
you turned away
as my youth's last bloom wilted
& dropped
i lovingly press this fallen blossom

dandelion seed
into the mists
i wander
my soul is thirsty
for the sun dappled beauty
of the forests
hanging heavy
with dew
the thick undergrowth of ferns
my bed of meditation

wildflower days
my storm is quietly building
i can feel it
as lightening strikes
inside my mind
i know the thunder isn't far behind
so powerful
it will make the ground quake
spiritual power
from the cosmos
igniting in me
burn down the past
with sweet incense
i watch it all go
& from the ash i emerge
with lilting poetry on my lips
to charm the deities
entice them with songs
sunflowers...

The Flower That Bloomed
The Torn You
Becomes a Healed You
Which Creates a Renewed You
A Stronger You
A Happier You
A More Confident You
Your Past is What Shaped You
Understand That You Found Yourself
And That You Can't Be Compared to Nobody Else
Your Spirit Has Grew Almost Two Feet
People Who Were Considered Your "Friends" Couldn't See
That Those Who Are Watching Can't Wait Until You Hit Concrete
Be Aware of Those Who Aren't Praying for You
Or Motivating You
Because Those People Should Be The Ones...

Chirk Castle
I returned to the castle garden,
the day calm and still
above, clouds heavy, rain cold
as summer showers can be.
She stood as last year
poised in naked dignity.
Hello proud beauty
do you remember me last year?
I did not ask your name,
you never asked me mine,
I dreamed you leaning over me
did I really kiss your breasts
not knowing who you are?
Please tell me who are you
did you come from Rome
to stand the English winters?
I only visit here in summer,
yet...

*Como La Flor (Like the Flower)
In Tribute to Selena Quintanilla-Perez
(April 16, 1971 - March 31, 1995)
A Texas flower just starting to grow,
A Tejano angel, the flower's breed,
With a heart as big as the Lone Star state,
And so far beyond, once her song takes root.
Una flor de Texas empezando a crecer,
Tejano A Ángel, casta de la flor,
Con un corazón tan grande como el estado de Lone Star,
Y hasta ahora más allá, una vez su canción toma raíz.
A dream of the future, of children born,
Embracing a crossover, her fate sealed.
A mesmerizing sight...
