Anatomy Of A Kiss
Crisp scent of cold weather,
Aroma of vanilla and old leather,
Crackling of a warm fire,
Heightening a romantic desire.
Moistening,
Tempting,
Flames flicker as eyes meet,
Knees trembling in retreat,
Hearts racing in anticipation
Lip touch, wet with expectation.
Searching,
Teasing,
Feelings like a river flood,
Oxytocin streaming in our blood,
Sexual desires careen,
Quickly boosted by dopamine.
Savoring,
Devouring.

TRANSFORMING A FOE
POSSIBILITY
We all have had them
or will have them, they
are as inevitable as night
follows day and conversely.
ENEMIES!
The age-old question for
some, not everyone, is HOW
do you transform your FOE
into a FRIEND?
Will money achieve it?
Will fame and position
bond a friendship?
Will flattery do it, even
when each soul knows
his or her flaws?
Will empty words and
broken promises heal a breach?
Will giving an expensive
and rare gift do it?
Maybe those and other
gimmicks and gadgets ...
We all have had them
or will have them, they
are as inevitable as night

LIFE'S LESSONS
AWAKENING
The day I discovered
the amazing truth about
how we, mostly ME, live
a life of wasted days
and wasted nights, I
started to live in REALTY.
The major one IS:
I cannot change yesterday,
I am not guaranteed a future,
Amazingly, TODAY is all
I have for SURE.
There is one constant that
I am sure of and that is
CHANGE.
I can reject it, deny it,
flow with it, or become
a victim.
TODAY, which is all
in reality I have,
I choose the amazing
pleasure of holding you closer

You move me but I try not to budge too much
despite the desires and deep yearning for your touch.
I often fantasize about feeling your arms
around me when I’m scared or needing warmth.
But I hate these feelings, it’s so damn scary
failing at stopping my heart from caring
Just when I discovered staying single was just fine
you came in, kissed my soul and changed my mind.
Even though it feels good, I can’t just drop my guard.
Still I’m wise enough to not lose you due to dwelling on my scars.

BUT,

not being truthful
