Waiting
I wait
I toss and turn
Ding...is it you?
Whether I’m alone in the dark
Jogging in the park
Driving to the store
I know it sounds crazy
And we still have things
To learn about each other
But I need one or the other
A call or a text
To exhale, to feel, to know
That I’m on your mind
So I lay here waiting
Maybe I should sleep
To halt the anticipation
I’ll pray that when I awake
I’ll see your name
And I don’t have to do this
Write another weird poem
About being impatient
Wow I must really like you
I toss and turn
Ding...is it you?
Whether I’m alone in the dark
Jogging in the park
Driving to the store
I know it sounds crazy
And we still have things
To learn about each other
But I need one or the other
A call or a text
To exhale, to feel, to know
That I’m on your mind
So I lay here waiting
Maybe I should sleep
To halt the anticipation
I’ll pray that when I awake
I’ll see your name
And I don’t have to do this
Write another weird poem
About being impatient
Wow I must really like you
