As you postulate
inappropriate time and place
to address this turpitude
you ignorantly embrace
when death is commonplace

easy way to piss off a lover ( or that seemingly innocuous moment just before a relationship ends)
it had been a difficult
couple of days in
our relationship
one night my lover
asked me
(demanded actually)
"What is it YOU want!"
and i responded
"The Collective Short
Stories of R. Carver."
and my lover yelled,
"WHAT THE HELL KIND
OF ANSWER IS THAT!"
"AND WHAT ABOUT
ME!"
and i said,
"Oh? Do you like ...

The Almost Instant Karma of Pampelmousse
sensory intake:
round
dimpled skin
pale yellow
patches of pink
citrus fruit in parking lot near dumpster
speculations:
may have rolled out of someone's bag
someone was on the way to the dumpster and dropped it
ideas:
1.pick it up and throw it in the dumpster
2.just kick it out of the way
NO! it could be a bomb!
a grapefruit bomb?
(rolling eyes at self)
yes! don't kick it. you could die
right oh, um, remember what you wrote on the board in your dorm

Conceptual fragility; the seducer of worth
Health be thy wisdom or salt of the earth
My essence, asunder; purveyor of faith
Evil seeps under exposing the wraith
Sanctity of division; a studious mile
Friends turned to enemies; rationale is on trial
Ignorance, a plenty. Devotion a must
It leads with red fury. They follow with lust
Upon its heels, they are amorous. They give all of their soul
But it mechanizes them. It gains full control
I ask them to research. I ask how it came
They look at me bleeding, yet feeling no shame ...

she is relieved to find she is not the only
