Heart to heart
Those little hurts that keep us pushed apart –
it isn’t you that triggers that emotion:
a family heirloom, passed from heart to heart.
The loaded words and silences that smart,
perceived rejection causing such commotion --
old memories that keep us pushed apart.
The monster feelings soaring off the chart,
pulling us deeper in a cold, dark ocean --
an ancient trauma, passed from heart to heart.
When little things make reasoning depart
and distrust spreads through veins like poison potion, ...

Ice Scraper....
The little things of life,
are the Mosaic of Eternity.
Crookedly laid, obliquely marked.
Random puzzles are roughly fitted.
Eternal truths look like dogmas.
It will endure and sweeten, or else.
There is a time for every moment.
Everything that is not given will become desires.
Puzzles will be put together with gravestones.
The little things of life hold the pieces together.
Someone with a rose, someone with a club.
Crookedness is straightened, truth is crooked,
and in Eternity they will draw closer -

revolution
I look for something,
anything
to say to you.
do I talk of Voltaire?
Marcus Aurelius?
or that my favorite TV
show has been cancelled...
but all the while I knew
there were
butterflies rotting on flowers
in the dead summer heat,
toilets fighting back-. overflowing
sick of taking
everyone's crap
all these years.

Bitter Harvest
As I take a bite from this fruit
the flavor is blatantly ash.
Left with a craving on my tongue.
No, I could not hold back the tears.
I have nothing, yet you take more.
And you hate when I start to weep
because it makes you uneasy.
I wish I could just disappear.
So, what are we cultivating?
Seems we only tend when we clash.
And I never get enough sleep
as I constantly live in fear.
I worry about the backlash
of what you sowed as I will reap.

He pushes the boundaries of dominance,
to the point of rudeness
to the point of anti-feminism
to the point of maximum yang
to the point of wildly seductive don't go there danger
i know better.
i know better
but
i want to follow him.
i hope i do
i hope i don't
Now where do i go?

Jailhouse Rock
English courts are stars and garters
As American courts give fines
Mostly to trailer park martyrs
When an indiscretion inclines.
So why are the English better
In matters of jurisprudence
Like timely use of a fetter
Or, implementation of fence?
I suspect old puritan stock
And all their angry descendants
Perversely crave to punish a flock
Of low rent codependents.
But now that the internet's here
They can worship something gracious
Such as a midnight sonneteer
And his elegance capacious,
Which recommends more...

By Divine Command
By divine command we’ve been told to take this land
And it doesn’t matter who is already there
Because a greater power has told us that it is ours
It’s a directive that sounds right and fair…
And yet something weighs heavy on my conscience
To see that many innocent people dying on the streets
Seeing families being forced out from their homes
Women and children searching for something to eat
Like the homeless man who comes by the neighborhood
Digging through the trash in the rain and mist
Being pushed out by the cops because he...

Heavy Cross
was it you
or was it the wind
that turned off
the flame of desire?
who's the one that
by distraction
lost you
was lost from you
never came back
to ask for
forgiveness
I don't even ask you
that much
I just want
half-open mouth
waiting
for forgiveness
for none
of my sins
the hand begging
a solution
that cools me down
the stigmata
You are a crown of thorns
and I don't know where
I left my
sacred Heart...

misery
you creep in
tiptoeing in my mind
whispering your sins
owning whats left of me
let me be
Misery
take your demons
please leave
and never return

owning whats left of me
let me be
