Peach Rhymes with Reach
The majority of the year was spent in
t-shirts with my hair tossed up
I’m really behind on my laundry
I buy new clothes
and throw it away
Though we likely
felt a similar way
in 9 approaching 10
there’s still something sure
about the rounded
wholeness of 20
19 was the hardest year of my life
I probably sunk into white ceilings
and drowned in hot, fluorescent
lighting more than
I can count in 30 years
My mom would often say I...

Neuro
It's a comic and cruel twist of fate
that you went in for a brain surgery and returned
worn of heart,
and you're sleeping, all wires, monitors, white lines -
our dead pan humour lingers in my cargo,
I don't know what to do with it now.
And I sit,
six to eight hours from you
penning lines with less empathy than our jest,
more rage, more frustration, more age
contemplating who you'll want nay need me to be,
who you'll be as and when you wake.
I'm driving up Monday
back to Suffolk with all her ghosts, ...
that you went in for a brain surgery and returned
worn of heart,
and you're sleeping, all wires, monitors, white lines -
our dead pan humour lingers in my cargo,
I don't know what to do with it now.
And I sit,

Through the Eyes of a Friend
Look at me through the eyes of a friend, she said,
A stream of thoughts embraced me in a sad rhapsody,
But I, drunk on whiskey and rye cried a rivulet instead,
Running through my mind like an unforgettable melody.
I took her old rosary, the one she kept in an old box,
Before anyone else would ransack her possessions,
I prayed a prayer of redemption but before I could talk,
She said, never look back or hold on to obsessions.
But I placed the beads and hymn book in my rucksack,
My young rebel soul would never see her eyes again,
And as the years...

Yesterday
..so
people ask
how am I doing?
Well today was like
a pincushion
fart pillow
from cancer town.
Not quite hell
as I have had worse days
just not so many
of them
in a row
that as soon as you step off
the short bus
it hits you
making you take your seat again
time for another ride
that becomes endless weeks
and turn to months
yes there is no denying
cancer is a shit show

HYPNOTIZE WITH FEAR
Just when you think that you are getting pass the things in your life that nearly broke your spirit and killed your soul things have a way of invading your life once again in a form of a storm, that just shows up to change your life as well as your world for as I sit here with these tears within the depth of my eyes as my silent tears falls down my face.
As the news I received shakes the very foundation of my being down to the depth of my core...
As the news I received shakes the very foundation of my being down to the depth of my core...

INSIGHT THROUGH LIGHT INTO LIGHT (Sun., 3-17-19, 3:30pm, St. Patrick's Day, Starbucks Reserve Shop, Palm Springs, CA)
inwardly explode
outwardly
for all
that most
near perfect
inner sense
of peace filled
innocent bliss
im sure
you must have
felt
and sensed
innately indwelling
within you
at certain
epiphanous moments
in your life
which
in truth
is our natural
core state
our highest
divine ground
of true
being
but which has
throughout
human history
always been
so deeply
so completely
repressed
and suppressed
by whatever
cultures

Black Spot Compass
The word
festered like a whisper
in the small limbs
on the recesses
of my mind
cancer
not the cool
tropical crab
a vision
of paradise
no
not that at all
more of a tunnel
vision
of a long hole
with no light
to greet you
at the end
festered like a whisper
in the small limbs
on the recesses
of my mind

Was My Moon In Cancer?
Yesterday
was cut-up day at
the great
Mayo Clinic south............
surgeon stuck in his
thumb and pulled out
a plumb of lymphy nodes
o, how great will this cancer be ?
we'll see.
we'll see.
(Won't wee?)

Devil perfected humans in his image
So obsessed with our unstoppable progress
Everything we touch diminishes, including us

The Battle Within Me
A moment of silence
Please
For me
As life has took a turn
For the worst
But I'm still strong
Physically able to carry on
And mentally stable
To support not only I
But my mother whom
Looks up to her only son
For advice
As my father
Fights for his life
As the cancer
Threatens to take the happiness
I desperately try to hold
My relationships
Are in shambles
Yes relationships with an "s"
Why must I continue to talk
To different people of the opposite sex
Not just one
I can hold unto...
Please
For me
As life has took a turn
For the worst

And mentally stable

Terminal Courage
In times of Cancer or " AIDS "
Don't allow your faith to grow dim.
Uplift your fellow-human;
Give hope and compassion to them.
Let life not wither on the vine
in helplessness of despair;
Remember, you're not the only one
who could give-up and not care.
Be stronger and allow the weak
to lean against your might.
Plant the seeds of courage
in those who fight your fight.
Don't forget to be human
and it's all right to cry.
there's no room for self-pity
where only love can satisfy.
Don't allow your faith to grow dim.
Uplift your fellow-human;
Give hope and compassion to them.
Let life not wither on the vine
in helplessness of despair;
Remember, you're not the only one
who could give-up and not care.
Be stronger and allow the weak
to lean against your might.
Plant the seeds of courage
in those who fight your fight.
Don't forget to be human
and it's all right to cry.
there's no room for self-pity
where only love can satisfy.
