First experience at Six Flags Great Adventure
In July this will mark the 40th anniversary of my 1st time at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson New Jersey.
Prior to Great Adventure, I had some experience with Amusement Parks. My parents and grandparents have taken me to Adventureland in Farmingdale Long Island since 1980. My first roller coaster experience was there in 1982. Accompanied by my father, I rode a coaster called the Galaxy. A simplistic, figure 8 coaster that hit speeds of 30 mph. At that time, I thought it was the greatest thing on Earth!

Coffee & Pancakes
I.
We reached that Dead End
the one that pointed and said:
You, Right
and. . .
You, Left.
Scared Us senseless
but we bagged ego
submitted despite what we wanted
Because Love
isn't always grasping for happiness
On the contrary;
it's often a self-sacrifice
for the one you love's benefit
Those who've truly Loved
understand this
II.
A timing belt of dynamics
churns for our experience
Infinite are intersecting...
We reached that Dead End
the one that pointed and said:
You, Right
and. . .
You, Left.
Scared Us senseless

In the war of liberation from Spain.”
“What in the world does that have to do with you in the present?

In the Sorrow of Your Arms
Plans are made
To be broken,
And no charms
Can break
That spell.
Our destiny
May be a token
Of those
Dreams
We know so well.
There
In the sorrow
Of your arms
I still can
Hear them tell,

We knew

Unwound,
And at last

The echo

The Number 18
Number 18 is a number etched on the skin
a parchment of smiles through tears
a number, simple but never forgotten
written on the scabs of old wounds
18th of November a path to glory was hoed
furrowed flesh won't ever hurt as much
or whispered goodbye and signs in the cloud
of oncoming storm of soul in death's clutch
remembering the name in the echoes of time
torch burning bright like a bush aflame
18 evoke regrets and what could have been
