A Sudden Sluice of Sea-Ice
The kid drops his bucket and spade / And climbs into the sun.” Nick Cave
Sea-ice shoals are spooned
Into surrogate vessels of feeling,
Tidal grief has sunk emotions
Girl at the point where the pier once lay
Could be disturbed moments away from
Sleeping with the fishes
I turn my back on the portentous vision
And paint the sky red with seagull blood
As diamonds plucked from expensive watches
Temporal is the temptation to crush auld crystal,
Tougher than slate, finger bone br/e/aker
They’d look beautiful abreast...

Tidal grief has sunk emotions
Girl at the point where the pier once lay
Could be disturbed moments away from

The 30th Anniversary Of Michael Robbins' Death
You starred in "The Visitation" which was an episode of Doctor Who.
Your life ended thirty years ago today on December the 11th of 1992.
You died two weeks before Christmas Day.
You were sixty-two when you passed away.
You were a very talented British actor but your death ended your career.
Time sure does fly, it doesn't seem like you've been dead for thirty years.
You starred in every season of "On The Buses" except for the final season.
I don't know why you decided to quit but you must have had a good reason.
You guest-starred in "One Foot In...

Cancer Free
This is my first anniversary
Of the year cancer could have got me
I carried pain nobody could see
Dire news had befallen me
I cried to the Gods, “how could this be?”
“It’s your test,” they replied to me
Learn to accept that your family
Can only be what they can be
Accept all the changes that would accompany
What happens as cancer claims your body
Believe in something you can’t see
Something to remove the guilt that you carry
I came to a place where I could believe
That life had more to offer...

Scramble
In November of 1982, Mom bought me a handheld video game for an early Christmas present. The game I received was "Scramble" by Tomy. It's a VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display) game. It's based on the "Scramble" arcade game that was made by Stern/Konami.
I still remember the night before I received the game. My family and I were visiting my grandparents in Sneedville and I was a very happy boy because I knew that I would receive my game the very next day. I was only eleven years old at the time.
On Scramble, you fly a jet. You must shoot flying and stationary missiles. You...

3 years (ish) and counting :)
Hey lovely stranger~
In about 4 days now, my profile will be officially 3 years old!
It's not an extremely substantial amount of time, but I felt like making an anniversary post because I think this is the longest time that I've kept a hobby alive lmao
So why not give a mini-celebration? :D
Before this, I created my first account, 'wizkatfood', about 4 years ago, which to this day, I still have no idea why I freaked out, deleted it, then started this one. But, I'm glad I did whatever I did, because I'm still on here, expressing...

What Will Survive Of Us Is Love
We burned you into little shells and stars
Melted fingers into perpetual prayer,
Blazed the manuscripts of our library.
In memoriam, set fire to the psalm breeze.
There is no other place where
Their ghosts can ever roam,
Than in our hearts’ mantelpiece.
The hearth will soon be a heath
Where no kites or birds fly.
In the unforgiving space between minds
Guillotined by Alzheimer blades,
Absence anvils the tender hearts:
Each hug is a final hug.
From Dad, the strength and compassion
From Mum, the fear and...

It Never Gets Old
Silently she drops to her knees
(thankful for padded carpet).
She still carries the graceful dancer
from earlier years though it’s more difficult now.
Yes, she’s been here before.
Exactly in this place.
Too many times to count.
She leans into his warmth and thinks,
it never gets old.

21 years.....
Right about now we were
introduced
as the happily wedded couple
Mr & Mrs
Wow what a feeling
and in church no less!
(the grannies were happy about that lol )
we knew it was going to be a wild ride
Wild doesnt even explain it
A ride we had to experience....
young and in love
ready to conquer the world
together hand in hand
Theres been some dark days within these 21 years
rough child births
kids needing specialists when born
stress, mortgage, car payments, more stress ...

57th Anniversary
If Mom and Dad had lived, today would've been their 57th anniversary. They were married on September 25, 1965. Dad was almost eighteen and Mom was seventeen at the time.
They were so young that they had to have their parents sign for them to get married. Somebody interrupted my grandfather's dinner to tell him that Mom needed him to sign so she could get married. Papaw told that person to let him finish eating his hot dog and he would sign. Two years after getting married, Mom gave birth to my brother. Almost four years later, Mom gave birth to me in 1971.
