The combustible birth of forever love. (A pact)
Days morph
of invading stardust
Lessons of lifetimes
tattoo indelible knowledge
viscerally, upon each thought
A mind opens wider than
tempted of ornamental starburst
Recruitment of a tattered soul
followed by
it's patchwork'd weary heart
beating willing subjugation
Claimed by complete dominion
of forevermore
splicing ink with blood
This, my pact of prose
Ritualized in rhythmic flow
verses born...

Cancer Free
This is my first anniversary
Of the year cancer could have got me
I carried pain nobody could see
Dire news had befallen me
I cried to the Gods, “how could this be?”
“It’s your test,” they replied to me
Learn to accept that your family
Can only be what they can be
Accept all the changes that would accompany
What happens as cancer claims your body
Believe in something you can’t see
Something to remove the guilt that you carry
I came to a place where I could believe
That life had more to offer...
Of the year cancer could have got me

New Girl at Church
Susan lifts the steaming coffee cup to her moistened lips. Her eyes are teary but it may be from the onions she just peeled.
Her new friend from church, Carol knocks on the door. Susan gets up and lets Carol in. Carol brushes the tears from Susan’s face. Carol implores her, “What’s got you in such a funk girl?”
Susan replies, “Don forgot our anniversary. Not even a single rose to celebrate. But after church, Don goes out of his way to get coffee and donuts for a young lady to make her feel welcome because she is new to the...

In the Sorrow of Your Arms
Plans are made
To be broken,
And no charms
Can break
That spell.
Our destiny
May be a token
Of those
Dreams
We know so well.

In the sorrow
Of your arms
I still can
Hear them tell,

We knew

Unwound,
And at last

The echo
Of our sound.

for my beautiful daughter Kimberli,
on her birthday (September 6)
i saw your net worth
at your birth,
when all the glad earth,
filled with mirth,
dispelled the fierce dearth
of hope’s girth,
kindling my slept dreams
at the seams.
ｏ
you are the kindling
that i bring;
drink from the wellspring
of my zing.
fast am i fading
from the ring;
lose not life’s passion:
drink the sun!

Two years
and an Ode to those 2 years
Of a patch purplePinkBeaut!
she is subtle, she sees and hears
her heart and mind astute
Wisdom personified
she moves about non chalantly
Conduct dignified
She slays the stray non vioelntly
She - the epitome of a human
raising above the surrounds
A Lady beautiful if i knew one
the light of the Underground
A poet she kept the world waiting
She deals in all things deep

A friend forever to keep!
