I can't sleep tonight
so I write you.
I write to alleviate anxiety
from the day's events
{nothing more than usual}
and I write to you because

to soothe—

of a truly stressful day

The Wraith of You
A gentle presence felt,
a shiver uncontrollably dealt,
flashes of movement in the corner of my eye,
how these visits bring my tears,
and sooth my mind,
knowing I'm not alone,
when you vanished I wished to die,
but my hands refused to move,
the knife unused,
then,
I madly ran,
demons feeding on pain,
but you pulled me from the abyss,
and held me from the edge,
offering love instead,
but loss filled rage possessed my soul,
I wanted no part of serenity,
so I fought you,
tried to cast you...

Those Eyes, His Eyes.
Those eyes.
His eyes.
They look at me as though I were made of magic.
There's this expression he wears as he watches me.
It's a mixture of awe and pure love.
Eyes almost glisten with adoration.
In that moment I am caught off guard.
You see, only he has ever seen me like this.
Only he has looked upon me with such sterling intimacy.
I feel weightless in his gaze.
As though my feet have left the ground.
Soul naked while my body remains clothed.
There's danger in such raw vulnerability.

Washing Machine
Laying in bed listening to the deep thud of the washing machine.
Your roommate is doing laundry.
In three months you won't have loud roommates, you'll have independence. Unhooking from college, dorm, roommate, life and locking the collar on moving in with your best friend, pain in the ass, love of your life.
Three months and you'll be clipping the leash on being depended upon by the furry child you raised with him, though up till the moving date you're more like a distant visitation mother on the weekends.
Soon you'll trade books for a full-time punch card and study...
