Based on the Institute of Neuroscience and Psychology Research, our brains are able to use context to make predictions about what's to come and can read scrambled text
I had to try this in poetry
Hope it reads well 😁

It did read well enough to me after I saw the opening phrase of the last paragraph, 'See clearly past the chaos.."

Dear NG,
Far far away and long long ago a course I took in grad school not only introduced this concept of scrambled reading, additionally, that while westerners are taught to read left-right eventually we read down the center of a paragraph using peripheral vision to acknowledge the words on either side. It was a fascinating subject. It was also a thousand years ago since I was first introduced to this. I really like how you’ve integrated the anticipation and excitement of a relationship into this format. Wonderfully clever but I’m not surprised your poetry and artwork are so creative. H🌷

A clever poetic twist to brighten the day. I enjoyed this psychological foray of yours, kudos!

Oh I love the chaos in that second line. It read perfectly fine to me but I loved the visual and having my mind sort it out on the fly. So often the messages do appear scrambled and other times they are actually scrambled but the mind is the best decryptor even if it leads us astray sometimes. Really unique and awesome poem NG. I love your creativity.

Thank you so much KX!
I proofread everything more than once and still I can miss it! You’re right sometimes the mind just sees it and other times when you’re looking for it, it’s invisible. I’m so glad you got into this!
Thank you 💖

Very interesting. So cool.
Yes... I believe there is a minimum, pertaining to the necessary
amount of letters needed for us to fill in the blanks.
Honestly... I felt like I could almost read the words faster?
(I somehow feel like this was part of the study also?)
I think maybe because you are more conscious in the
apprehending of the words?
Nevertheless, I like the way you made the content
and format fit so well together and create such a multi level experience.
Nicely done.

It’s interesting you found that you could possibly read the scrambled words faster. I gave this poem to a few friends to read before I posted it. I needed to reassure myself it would “land.” One of my friends experienced the same effect!
It’s almost as if the mind immediately identifies errors, sends the correct information, and continues to process the information faster to compensate for those errors.
I’m glad you enjoyed the experience and shared how it effected you! Thank you!

How wonderful, scrambling words to convey angst within the poem. Being mildly dyslexic I completely missed it at first as I read meaning and skip over the spelling. Then, after seeing your notes I needed to reread to poem [actually read it, I mean] to find how cleverly you manipulated emotions. What wicked fun.

This is fascinating, yes reading the intended message, instead of the words. Perhaps that’s how we are also able to “read” emotions or intentions of people at times.
I love that this was wicked fun! So pleased!

I'm familiar with the research you cite, I believe--
yes, our brains don't read every letter.
What I like about the mis-spellings is how it comes across like the surface or texture of the "page" or surface on which the language resides has been wrinkled, or creased, thus distorting the letters.
An interesting effect.
A kind of visual distortion between the sender and receiver of the transmission, in which case its less of an effect of the surface (wrinkles or creases) but "distortion"...
Enjoyed!

That’s an interesting take-a-way on this, actually seeing more than the word scramble… also seeing a visual change with the texture. This has been a really interesting outcome throughout!
Thank you for the observation!
Appreciated!
