Did You Find Me
Did you find me?
I’m there with you, or at least you’re here with me.
As I moved closer to your voice, the vibration got stronger.
And now, you’re always here with me.
But just out of reach.
Like a lost thought that plagues the mind hopelessly trying to retrieve it.
I hope you found me there when you unpacked your belongings.
Did you invite me to help you populate your new space?
Did I burst into your room like a spirit being released.
Maybe you nodded to me as you put each thing in it’s new place, reassembling your life.
I’m there...
I’m there with you, or at least you’re here with me.

I can't sleep tonight
so I write you.
I write to alleviate anxiety
from the day's events
{nothing more than usual}
and I write to you because

A 4 hour drive doesn’t sound so bad
But we’re two young kids who can’t afford the gas
And I try to write you letters but I don’t know what to say
Just circling, hoping you’ll come up through the page
Maybe I wish we had more photographs
Like of when we chased the rain at your mom & dad’s
Or of the morning light in your tired eyes
When you lean down to kiss me in the early thrift store lines
When I drive, I drown in the pink streaked skies
But it feels unsaturated and I ask myself why
I’ve got the smell of cigarettes...

i fell in love with you on commonwealth avenue
the sky has never been quite so blue
stars will never shine as bright as you
all those long nights filled with elation
getting completely lost in conversation
memories i’ve frozen in time
because i know i couldn’t press rewind
baking cake in your apartment
spilling coke zero on your carpet
spontaneous adventures throughout the city
simultaneous smiles walking for miles went by so quickly
how fast we inhaled those tasty...

however, bells' reverberations
echoed through eternity and new
bird flocks passed in migration
a river stream in the sky
of wings perfectly synched
It's now time to say goodbye
as I arrived at my journey's end.
I sing, today I feel a child
but my ways do not assume
I love abundance, as it's wild
exotic, colourful, in succulent perfumes;
My Lady, I believe in you, though
you bring inspiration and wisdom - refined
Boredom is a portal, now go
these four walls should...

Non existent existence
How can I call this an existence without you near me.
Never knowing the gentle caress of your touch across my face
Never having the chance to hold you in a loving embrace.
Has my heart racing from just the thought,
Of you and I being worlds apart.
Yet, growing closer from your looks and words
That quietly penetrate my mind day in and day out.
But still loud enough to force it’s way pass this impenetrable wall placed around my heart.
How can I call this an existence
Knowing that the days seem longer...
Never knowing the gentle caress of your touch across my face
Never having the chance to hold you in a loving embrace.
