Their queen, a regal soul, her mandate clear:
“Build, gather, thrive—our empire we revere.”

Dream Lights
It’s dark out tonight
The stars are closed
But I’ve got dream lights
Illuminating me
It’s how I was made
Pep in my step
Walking in tune on
Sidewalks or blacktops
To the sound of
My soul’s whistle
Following the instincts
Of my mind’s missile
Navigating myself
Towards the ceiling of my
Brain’s right hemisphere
Moving the bulbs around
Careful not to shatter
My tunnel vision
Filled with dream lights
Never nervous when they
Try to flicker
Because I’ll remember ...

A New Year
I make no new year resolutions
and so I disappoint no one
especially myself if I may say so
Furthermore, it leaves me with
next to no regrets
And I like it this way
Changing and growing
go hand in hand
I strive to better myself
on a daily basis and
see no need at all
to put self improvement off
until the new year begins

A Musical High (True Life)
A friend introduced me to a man who ran a piano shop and we became good friends. The owner of the shop gave me work and recommended my services to others. Sometimes, I would arrive at the shop first thing in the morning, open up and remain on the premises alone till closing time at five or five thirty, when I'd lock up and set the alarm, making a quick dash out of the door before the alarm activated. Once I failed
I regret, oh, how I regret!
What if it happens again?
Full of doubts and fear
I stand at the shore
of the river of life
I hear a seductive voice:
Take off your clothes!
Don't hold back! Jump!
Waves washing around my body
I am floating, zero gravity
no ground under my feet
no future, no past
no hope, no desire
only trust and surrender
Finally I found what I have been seeking
I am at home, perfectly happy
devoted to the magical moment of the NOW
I regret, oh, how I regret!
