A Choice
What if you were given the choice of living
an alternate reality?
In a strange forest, a labyrinth of bark doors.
A life where your dreams are radiant diamonds seen.
Would problems crumble like twigs upon the forest floor?
Or does always exist a veil of unimagined terror's sheen.
A false peace.
Some memories refuse to easily fade, would thoughts
from the life you abandoned, permissionless, invade.
You will exist extremely haunted by
your unfulfilled deeds and unplanted seeds.
Make the life you already have hold meaning. ...

Transitions
Change is inevitable
It is one of the few things we are guaranteed in life
As times goes by and we grow old
So too must our minds
Accepting the rules of the universe
Transitions should not cause us despair
They can be foundations of inner strength
Teaching us to be flexible and adaptable
Giving us a more depth look into our existence
The human experience is filled with quick turns
It can go from joy to misfortune in an instant
Because in the ebb and flow of life
There are constant variations

A Kiss at the Circus of Horrors
Two men, painted in oil on canvas
are under the striped canvas.
Amidst the crowd of curious eyes
in the circus of horrors
where normality is challenged.
Their lips touch, soft and bold,
like a secret shared in the shadows,
they challenge conventions, break chains.
While watched with fascination and buzz.

he was literally tired of all the shit
enough of the shit show
this shit's gotta go
he no longer wanted to own his shit
but not just his
he was fed up with putting up with

stupid things I said when i was 20
the job I was fired from
my inability to crochet
the man I should have married
perfect symmetry
is a treasure
the Taj Mahal has it
against a polluted sky
in a strange country
a billion people
many too hungry
to harbor neurotic thoughts
a former coworker
insufferfably pretentious
dismissed the Taj
as the world's most ornate body bag
he had many other stupid thoughts ...

Meet His Friends Night
Tonight's the night
the "meet his friends" night
I'm ready for this
nervcited (nervous excited) even
and it's gone great so far
I've had a couple of drinks
and took a taste
of Mark's
ginger ale & whiskey
something something
I don't think he
noticed how strategic
I was putting my lips on
the same exact spot as his
It made me smile
with each calculated sip
We were fixing to call it a night
when the Karaoke DJ decided ...

School Shoes
I stood alone In a world of laughter
friends playful glee at my bare feet
my eyes fixed envious on my friends
flaunting their gleaming school shoes
they laughed at my bare feet
as tears streamed down my face
everyday as I walked to school
it was a lonely place
teachers turned a blind eye
knowing my family didn't care
if we were schooled or not
if shoes be the caveat, stay home
my classmates laughed and demeaned
sometimes stamping on my bare toes
school was important to me for the books
so I sobbed...
