Dog Stories and Other Oddities of Fate
Walking my dog Onyx this morning
An hour later than usual
Hit the pavement at 7am
Usually out the door at 6am plus or minus
First dog we engage with is a BIG poodle
Jet black and wearing a cone
Just got spayed yesterday
Dog's name is Sunday
My first city rescue dog is pictured here
Her name was Sunday, we changed it
Ginger became her name
I named her after Ginger on Gilligan's Island A beauty for a beauty
I tell the owner black dogs rule
We chat and I move on ...

[un]restricted guidelines (remix) - featuring Naajir
let me see if I've got this right {w}rite
you wanna poetically please me
well, baby, go ahead
I’d be happy to indulgently spread
but you better do more than just tease me
cuz a creative mind is the most potent aphrodisiac
the ultimate turn on
so if we're gonna do this
here’s how it goes...
drop it on my tongue
all those rigid consonants & creamy vowels
working their delicious way in
leaving me all hot & bothered
fanning my lyrical flames
face flushed
crossing my metaphoric legs
as my muse snatches up...

Post Mortem
I would like to die in my sleep,
peaceful rest becoming eternity.
But then again,
I'd like for them to find me
with a half-eaten turkey sandwich
still in my mouth:
rotisserie roasted turkey
on artisan sourdough
or Jewish rye bread,
with slices of heirloom tomatoes,
strips of thick cut bacon,
mayo and alfalfa sprouts
instead of lettuce.
They will all lament that
I didn't get to finish such
a delicious sandwich.
Then they will examine
my body and they will see
battle scars long since...

Moving On
last friday i attended a review with the gender clinic, and the primary points were with regards unfinished changes, which i'd sidelined, due to my heart ops, with regards voice training, and epilation, as i was focused on the actual reassignment surgery, which was successfully completed in May 2019.
she still remembered, as being wonderfully colourful. i said that i was now much more comfortable with my voice as it is, and that yes that i was still occasionally misgendered, but that was usually on the phone (even today) which makes me wince, but it is what it is, and on the phone, it is...

Once Upon A Death
On a distant mountain
There climbed a girl
Not quite yet woman
She watched and waited
For rocks to quit tumbling down
Before she took her cue
Fearless in her climb
Of a few impatient years
Too eager to know any better
Unprepared for the inevitable fall
When its plates shifted
Her grip began to slip
Cramping her fingers
Until the pain was too much to bear
She finally let go and
Embraced her death
Reborn when the time was right
And not a second sooner
Up she came, a woman now ...

. until you see my ink
I ink, therefore iamb.”―Adrienne Gusoff
i am a little poem,
a cluster of impressive words
with wings that soar like happy birds
upon the winds that blow ‘em.
i wear a cunning guise
that sometimes hides, behind its text,
making some readers sore perplexed,
words only for the wise.
i am both speech and song,

the secret word
Once exposed, a secret loses all its power.”―Ann Aguirre
it comes from deep within a shell,
pressed closely to the ear,
whose music no one else can tell
but he who holds it dear.
i hear it in the ripple of
the gently flowing spring:
a word of patience and of love

Has-Tingings!
Off the beaten track
Away from reality
Twas here
That i first discovered
A different kind of normality
Quizzical, and curious
And full of strange things
Inspired a myriad
Of wild imaginings
Twas the last day of September
Or so i believed
That my wild imaginings
Were originally conceived
I danced the dance Fandango
Dressed up mto the hilt
I espied a flying Scotsman
Playing bagpipes
Whilst wearing a hempen kilt
He claimed to be an alien
From a far, and distant land
And oft spoke in a language ...

Finding Myself
I do relish this lifelong quest
to somehow become the best
that I can truly be...
this innermost misunderstood me
A dainty dabbler in poems
one who is carefree within these roams
all about the wide vast world
where secret mysteries are unfurled
Only living one day a time
in sync with the pantheon of rhyme
climbing mountains ever so...
to somehow become the best
that I can truly be...

A dainty dabbler in poems

all about the wide vast world
where secret mysteries are unfurled

the whispered word
For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. Itwas
not my lips you kissed, but my soul.”—Judy Garland
the silence, still, is undisturbed,
when sotto voce tones
the wayward word has gently curbed,
before it jars the bones.
vexations to the spirit bear
the crudely contoured chasms
that bump and grind across the ear
like intellectual spasms.

Heart, Body, And Soul
kind of thinking, and reminiscing about the various psychologists, and psychiatrists i had to see during my transition. i told one, that i didn't feel as though i had any 'dysphoria', and that i know my label is a transwoman, but i said "that i feel as though i'm simply a woman, built with one digit to many!" a kind of unwanted +1!!!!😏 she wrote in her report, that she had no reservations in referring me, and that i was very colourful, with a good sense of humour! four plus years later, it's the best thing ive done, as i'm now finding myself, and being me. my brain is still...
