A poem for an auburn girl
She's wit and grit
behind large shades,
you felt raw energy
in any room she
walked in, could
give cats a run
for their money
on zoomies
and she wanders
corridors late, bends
herself into strange
shapes, singing out
loud forgetting all
doors were locked
the night before.

Wildlife
I know it's hard this way
navigating two maps
so differently, living
with a lamb filled
with uncertainty
and a jaguar who
vanishes without
question or reason
but my darling you
always put a smile
on my face, for two
years we have lived
this wildlife many
refuse to recognise.

My tongue is tapping the roof of my mouth
Seeing daylight
peaking through
the little crack
in your window
us, laying like
marble statues
sealed in small
time frames
as other peoples
faces mould into
the same old
questions
over and over,
our lips refuse
parting unless
they're about
to meet one
another in
the middle
again.

Strut Your Stuff
In the rainbow garden love blooms bright
with colors that sparkle day and night.
You're my main squeeze, my partner in crime,
together we shine like a disco ball's prime.
Our love is no closet secret, it's out and proud,
we strut our stuff, stand tall in the crowd.
You're the yin to my yang, the glitter to my glue,
in this fabulous life it's just me and you.
We dance through life, with a flair so grand.
Hand in hand in this borderland.
Our love's a parade with confetti and cheer.
In this vibrant world there's nothing...

One hundred and thirty four hours
I return back here
as you look after
your friends fur
babies over
in Leyton
so I take a
hot shower
and climb
into bed,
peace hits
me as your
duvet wraps
around my
body
and as I
bury my
face deep
into your
pillow
that war
in my mind
gets a bit
smaller
as the
curtain
of my
eye
finally
comes
falling
down.

Fangs
It was sickening having to
look straight in their eyes
no lights were on, dead
to everything in existence,
known eyes like that before
and they never leave you
alone afterwards.
All I had was an insolated room,
they couldn't unlock their side
of the door only my keys could,
if was alone, in that small room,
I couldn't bare to think what my
hands could have, would
have done.
I imagine something along
the lines of tearing limbs away,
crumbling them down like dust
wings...

Sensitive Heels
In ancient lands where heroes tread,
Achilles and Patroclus, their love widespread.
Through Trojan War, their bond was bold,
a tale of hearts, both fierce and gold.
With Troy behind, they journeyed on.
Their love's bright flame, a blazing dawn.
Olympic Gods, with hearts so kind,
bestowed their blessing fates entwined.
On fields of Elysium they roamed,
in laughter, joy, their spirits honed.
Achilles' strength and Patroclus' grace.
A love eternal, time can't erase.
In every battle, side by side, ...

Penpal Experiment
Just ate.
About to nap.
Your words, a quiet admission:
“I don’t like people…
haven’t chilled with anyone in years.”
I listened—
appreciated the honesty,
but I couldn’t let you believe
I’m here to be your penpal experiment.
You replied,
“You’re getting the wrong image about me.”
“I never once disrespected you.”
“I just wanted you to know how I like it.”
I answered, raw and sure,
“I won’t pretend I’m happy
feeling like your penpal experiment.
If you can’t meet me where I’m at,
that’s okay—then...

I know we don't do valentines
but every moment
with you feels like
a new adventure
no matter how
big or small it is,
as we watch
many climb up a
golden escalator
throughout both
our lifetimes
i'll turn my head
towards you, slow
blinking our secret
little message with
a smile on my face
knowing I will never
finish falling in love
with you, as your
name leaves my
mouth warm
and tender.

Earplugs
Times like these are dangerous
darkness dimming sun song
No birth of notes splashing
against our ears
before the poem digs up the well
of our heart
I don't wish for silence
but a roar from the shadow
howling for the symphony
the unity
of a thousand instruments
orchestrated as one
shattering the disease
spreading like olive oil
over the flowers
who's petaled eyes
are glazing over in disbelief
I will not shut my mouth
to...

Beige pigs in long wigs
I hear her and her
cronies snorting
and laughing on
four seaters
so I went over,
leaning against
her chair like
some villain
she expects
us to become
told her i'm joining in
on the conversation,
knowing I overheard
her talking about me
her three friends look
down at the floor as
the train rolls into
London St Pancras
as she continues
to deny discussing
about me soon as
I stepped aboard
this rush hour train,
I repeat word
