Annual Winds
Once a year or
nearly that time
close to before
hands full of grime
I journey to where
I prefer to be.
Familiar faces haunt
the halls and soul
friends breathe life
Into the Gardens
a place I frequent
to meditate or
BBQ.
Time-outs to ponder
upon retirement aims
future gains
or past droughts
all this matters not. . .
My journey back
a journey of reflection
would be just that ----
an eternal journey.

A Meditation
I am here,
The time is now
Nothing more
I need to know
I breathe in
I breathe out,
Inviting my spirit
to join the Tao
I sit in silence,
empty and alone
Facing the shadows
that hide the unknown
My thoughts and desires
do not define who I am
They’re clouds on the breeze,
driftwood in a stream
Holding to the past,
we chase invisible ghosts,
Refusing to accept
our illusion of control
Wherever flows this river
that carries me along,
I surrender to the current,...

Silence Is My Friend
Yesterday is a mirror,
Reflecting back choices made
and the stories that follow,
etched in stone forever…
Or until the swirling sands of time
Erode the record of my deeds
into barely-discernible ‘glyphs
Will I then simply disappear?
In vain I struggle to grasp
the essence, the significance
of each passing breeze
of thought, word, action
And sense the disquieting truth
that Life holds no intrinsic meaning
beyond that created within the depths
of my own imagination
Silence is my friend ...

Turning Summersouls
Turning Summersouls
The nuptial knot is never broken
for lovers who turn
through centuries of summer
in their karmic migrations
across Buddhafields
where they join hands to ascend
on ribbons of Dharma.

turning grief into the path
The hardest hurts in life come from grief
but the relief
is within the belief
that Love and Compassion
are positive forces
and the happiest endorses
caring for others
even if we will grieve their loss
since,
cosmically,
nothing matters,
but,
relatively,
everything does!

What Do You Think? On 2nd Thought, Nevermind. (Thank you.)
This'ere is my goofball destiny, (and
it's not so strange that destiny and density
are so close to each other.
I must admit, I've always a bit skeptical of
human life possessing some destiny, while there's

PALOOKAVILLE EXPRESS or: Blues for Terry Malloy (& Groucho)
PHOTO: Karl Malden and Marlon Brando (as Terry Malloy) "On the Waterfront" 1954
Never let yourself think
that you're "sure" of anything
you perceive as "going on",
either in your mind, or
the (so'called) "real world" outside of
your mind.
More often than not,
to do so is likely to be
a one-way ticket to
Palookaville.
Ego is not your friend.

COVID poem about humanity
At some point
this pandemic will end,
so then
we need to ask ourselves
"what will I have done?"
