Unrequited Love

Sleeping miles apart like total, strangers
Avoiding the tension which reminds us we aren't.
I glance over at her and she's staring ahead,
Comfortably existing, with me.
It's simple and happens so naturally;
It's how I know that this --
This is what's meant to be.
Too often I've found myself
Desperately
Trying to capture her attention
Hoping one day this love will cease to be,
Unrequited.
Knowing the happiness we once created
And could easily create, again.
