Drowning
Lost in the moment.
Time stops.
Just for a moment.
Your breath is caught.
You crave air.
The one thing that gave you life,
To curl around your taste buds.
To swirl down your throat.
You're gasping for air.
The only thing coming into your lungs,
Is the icy chill of water.
Your life is flashing before your eyes.
Everything in a rush.
Your body is going numb.
It's so cold.
The water engulfing your entire being.
Sucking the life away.
Bit by bit, forcing you to suffer.
You're slipping away.
Suffocation.
Everything is seeming to fade.
To escape through your fingers.
You can't cry.
You can't scream.
You can't move.
You just can't,
As you slowly disappear.
You just exist,
Here in this moment.
Slowly suffering into agony.
Your eyes are closing,
As the last bubbles of life
Escape your lips
And drift off
Into the unknown.
