Mother's Pride and Joy

 Mother birth and gave nutrients
Protection, encouragement
To her male child, her heart,
while holding his small hand

Mother educated, her little man
provided him with loved and religion
  through adolescent’s trials

Give her last, did without, sacrificed
to make him a strong man
Mother gave what she never had
 unrequited parental love

Her pride and joy
This child could do no wrong in mother’s eyes

The day they came to take him away
She fought and pleaded, “Not my boy, he wouldn’t do this.”
He cried and begged, “Mom, I’m not this man.”

Mother looked into her child’s pleading eyes
And knew, from years of knowing
Her child had lied
Mother wept, as she walked away
How had she raised a child to rape?
