Broken Promise

Tucked up in their beds so tight,
My beautiful family looking for respite'
All locks secured, listen for a pause,
Finally, my weary head on the pillow,
Nervous exhaustion the cause.

Felt myself drifting, ears still pricked,
Listening..............distant noises I do hear,
Unusual, upon my mountain top,
Fear for their safety instils vigilance that can't stop.

Heart and mind racing, the roar of engines approaching,
Trapped in this sanctuary,we thought was safe,
The only exit road, bringing the roar at such pace.

We huddle together, trembling with fear,
as the start of our nightmare comes dangerously near,
Hush hush babies, try to be still,
Promised to protect you and I always will.

Splintering timber, shards of glass imploded upon us,
as two vehicles smashed through the walls with no fuss,
Babies screaming, faces of terror tears streaming.

They ran from him, yet here he stands,
Gutless piece of shit, with five helping hands,
Helpless against them, two women, four children, just babes,
Our priority being, them to save.

We were no match to this brutal force, obviously full of dope,
All faith destroyed in humanity,
No question to their sanity.
Babes in my arms, we are wrapped and tied by a rope,
Made to watch as she struggled and fought, four held her tight,
He raped her, the other forced himself into her mouth
nearly choked her she had no chance to fight.

Two x two they did their deed,
filling her with their filthy seed,
Thought themselves so brave and tough,
punching and kicking, as if they hadn't done enough.

When they are done, getting ready to run,
There he stands with a filthy smirk,
Hands akimbo he laughs out loud, he is a creep,a mongrel a jerk.

She is battered, bruised and broken, but keeps her eyes on her babes, trying to comfort them while she suffers so bad,
From a bunch of morons who are totally mad,
With a whoop and a squeal,
they jump in the cars and away they peel.

We are still tied and trussed, she had to crawl on her belly to us.

My Dr bag brought, the bath was drawn, we cleaned and soothed,
I stitched and dressed all the wounds.

Media attention unwanted,
Her decision was made once again, to remain faceless,
For a very long time we will be haunted.

Struggling for normality,
thanking god there was no fatality,
We still all Breathe,
but every day we cry, curse and grieve.

I FAILED THEM, BROKE MY PROMISE TO KEEP THEM OUT OF HARMS WAY,
I'M NOT DONE WITH MY VENGEANCE, NOT YESTERDAY, OR TODAY, BUT
ONE DAY.
