Tip toes on a creeky kitchen floor
Unsteady hands on a pantry door
The malevolent demons lead the way
The heavenly angels having nothing to say
Both exhilarating and tedious
Fulfilling but dangerous
One sip
Two sip
Three
Tangy green liquid acting as a fire extinguisher
Ending the angry stew of lava starting right in my hearts center
The booze lulls my ravenous creatures
Tames my imperfect, belligerent features
Unsteady hands closing a pantry door

No longer am I forever alone
My booze has found its way back to his home

I am not an alcoholic but I am a recovering drug addict and I will say what you captured here was how we are secretive and try and hide our addictions.
Thanks for the reminder that if we let our guard down for even seconds we can and will be back in the control of the substance, whatever that might be.
