My thanks! I am super happy that I actually look prettier than Lady G, that is a high compliment to me indeed. You know what's funny, is I've actually never listened to many Beatles songs (except for the classics everyone has heard) over the years. My mother was more a fan of the Monkeys, so I heard their songs more than the Beatles when I was growing up. I'll have to give that Beatles song you mentioned a listen sometime! Sounds like a good one.

Oh, and indeed I think this *is* a song that Dante and Milton would both love to jam to. Very much in the spirit of many of their ideas, for sure! :)

Since the Monkees neither wrote the songs nor played the instruments when the tv show started, I can't say that any of my friends compared them to the Beatles.

As far as I am concerned "Devil In Heart" isn't one of their best, but it was one of the first to feature George Harrison singing lead.

I suspect my mother simply had a crush on Davy Jones, more than she liked the Monkees for their music per se! *Giggle* Back in the 60's, I would imagine a lot of girls were like that. Lol. Just like today, you have a lot of young girls who have crushes on certain singers who have very little talent and yet appear "cute" to them. *Cough... Justin Beiber... cough* For myself, I much prefer to value the music of a musician over the musician itself, and then if the musician happens to be cute also well then that's just a plus! Tee-hee-hee.

 I detect that we may have similar opinions of Beiber so it is all good. I think that may apply to males as well only the adjective would be much less respectful then "cute".

Additionally by the late 60ies Mr. Lennon had made his "god" statement and Sir Paul had admitted drug use. Their days as Ken dolls were over pretty much as soon as they stopped touring.

Ah, we do indeed have similar opinions on mister Beiber. In short, I can't stand him! He irritates the heck out of me. And has no talent whatsoever, either! My brother hates him too. In fact, I don't really know anyone who actually *likes* Justin Beiber, to be honest with you. He just... sucks. Big time! Talk about overrated, eh?
 
Yeah, that's very true about the Beatles! The Beatles totally lost their more pristine image once they quit going on the road. I always liked the Rolling Stones better as far as classic bands from that era go because they were more up front and honest about themselves by far than the Beatles were. Both were good bands and sang great, classic songs... but I just could dig the Stones more. My favorite song by them has to be "Sympathy for the Devil"! And my second favorite is "Paint it Black". That's classic stuff right there. For some reason, my favorite Beatles song was always "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". A very pretty song: leaving out the whole drug reference angle of it. Then again, I like the song "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane too! Guess when it comes to 60's music I'm a bit of a hippie chick, myself. *Wink*
