I Wasn't Worth Her

* My self-conscious speaking to myself*
You weren’t worth her Mike, it wasn’t your time
Look at her, happy in his arms. You could never do that
If she knew how you felt it would have ruined your friendship
You did the right thing for once, leaving her alone, you did her a favor
All you are at best is a blue collar hero, barely getting by
She wouldn’t tolerate a life like that; you had to let her go
She was never really yours to begin with you know
Sure you had intimate times and you knew too much
Anyone can understand why you feel the way you do
But you weren’t worth it, and you fucking knew it
You really thought you’d have your shit together in time
For her to realize the real man you could and wanted to be?
She is so full of grace, beauty, brains and personality
Why would you want to screw that up by stirring YOU in the mix?
Just be glad you were able to hold her for as long as you did that last time
Did it feel good? Like you had the world in your hands?
Like it could have lasted forever? I bet it did.
You totally could have spat those words out and probably won her heart
But remember Mike, keeping your mouth shut was for the best
You are nothing but a dead beat hopeless romantic; you’ll never go any where
Here hit that bottle one more time, just drink away the sorrow
That’s right you’ve done this plenty of times, you know
This one may have been different, but you were NOT worth her
